Wednesday, 16 October 2103, took place in Convention Hall Park, State Islamic University of Yogyakarta Indonesia (my university) we have a discussion about environmental issues, particularly youth organization roles in environmental problem solving. Actually this activity is monthly forum, one of Student Association of Biology Education Department (my organization) agendas. On collaboration with Water Forum@Kalijogo and IAAS LC UGM, we have sharing sessions each other from those organization introduction session and their environmental projects. Here, we wanna to share about organizations that included in our forum.

Water Forum@kalijogo is students organization of Faculty of Science and Technology students, UIN Yogyakarta that concern about river conservation as freshwater resources. Establish on 2011, the activities of this organization are protect Gajah Wong river from garbage through community service development, research on Gajah Wong river conservation and River Education for Students School. This organization has many projects in freshwater resources issue: mulung bersama, WF@kalijogo goes to school, Gajah Wong river week and many more.

IAAS LC UGM is abbreviation of International Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Sciences  Local Committee Universitas Gajah Mada.  This organization focus on students movement in Agricultural issues. This organization has mission to promote the exchange of knowledge, and ideas among students. Also, to improve the mutual understanding between countries and cultures. What have organized by this organization to do the mission is organize activities like seminars, international meetings, exchange weeks, working camps and small-scale development project.

In this discussion forum, we also have sharing about youth organization roles in environmental issues. The representatives of Water Forum@kalijogo said that we as students and also youth should have awareness about environmental issues, because we live within, what we can do to contribute to solve environmental problem is do eco-activities begin from our self and our organizations, like we have done to protect freshwater resources for its sustainability. Whereas, the representatives of IAAS LC UGM said that youth organization has important role to solve environmental problem, because it can be a platform where youth can collaborate each other with their knowledge and great ideas to face environmental problems.

So, what we can take from this article is youth organization has important role to solve environmental problems. Anything about our major, school or region, we can contribute to face it together. And, one statement for us ?Begin from our self and our organization, we can make a better world on the future?.
