INVOLVEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICERS IN FOOD PRODUCTION |

As it is very important to ensure that there is enough food for human consumption with the growing polulation, to minimize the environmental disruption and ecosystem interruption arising from food production, involvments of environmentalists and environmental managers is strongly recommended. Involvement of environmental officers will help in checking methods and ways food is being produced, processed and stored. Consequently, this will lead to embarking on meaningful researches on better eco-friendly ways our food can be processed and stored. Environmental officers will also ensure that the whole process, from the land cultivation to the point the food is delivered to the consumer is within the recommendable environmental limits and none of the methods adopted pose threat to the environment and ecosystem. Also, as this may be unknown both to the farmers and consumers, environmental officers will monitor the hunting, capturing and consumption of animals and ensure that no spiece is endangered in the process. This may even result to regulating the rate of animal hunting for meat production. Food production has significantly contributed to the amount of waste - both organic and inorganic in the environment. Involvements of environmental officers in food production will therefore enhance better management of waste arising from agricultural activities, thereby reducing agricultural waste in the environment. Again, It is very important to note that to meet up with growing global population, we will need to increase food production as it's very vital to man's survival. Therefore, the most appropriate way to minimize the environmental impact and ecosystem interruption of food production is to involve environmental officers into the whole process in order to ensure proper environmental consideration even as food production advances.

You have a very interesting idea here. I myself as well have always thought that there needs some kind of monitoring system in food production and distribution.
Although the government of each country is to some extent serving the role I think it should be done by real experts and professionals who know both the short and long term effect.

About the involvement of the environmental officers in food production, I think it is quite a creative idea. Obviously this idea requires some finance back up and human resources to support this policy, but there seems to be some possibility of actual change and improvement in production of foods.
