TUNZA Ecogeneration Environmental Research and Innovations Expo |

We finally managed as TUNZA Ecogeneration to hold the evironmental Research and Innovations Expo. Perharps the largest event i have personally convened throughout my career as an active environmentalist. The Event took place on the 31st of January 2020. The event was held at the Copperbelt University's American corner and commemorated under the theme 'Harnessing Research and innovationsfor a sustainable Environment'. It was officiated by the Area member of parliament as guest of honor and in partnership with key stakeholders such as the Copperbelt University School of Natural Resources, the Copperbelt University Directorate of Research and innovations, my Organisation Passion for Greens, the Junior engineers technicians and scientists JETS, the Zambia Network for Environmental Educators and Practitioners and many other NGOs and societies. It was covered by the national television, the Zambian National Broadcasting Corporation ZNBC, And it was recognised among the the historic and one of the largest related events in the environment sector in Zambia. The event was intended to showcase practical social and technological innovations aimed at enhancing a green clean and sustainable environment in order to realize the potential for empowerment, employability and inventiveness. It also helped to identify and recognize young environmental innovators and researchers as well as identify innovations that can be replicated and up scaled. It also provided a platform for engagement among innovators and their innovations, including education practitioners, researchers, learners, policy makers and financiers. It is also an essential lever in encouraging youths to take interest and actively engage in solving environmental problems affecting the country such as climate change, food shortages, environmental degradation, deforestation and global warming among others in order to achieve the sustainable environment agenda across the country and globe at large. The results were amazing, we managed to identify and recognise over 20 innovators and researchers from Junior to higher education with amazing exhibitions whom we managed to award certificates. TUNZA Ecogeneration was highly commended for the initiative and people showed thirst for more of such events as we used part of the promotional goods and gave the very important guests some eco gifts as show of appreciation for their coming. Going forward we intend to Launch of the Zambia Environmental Researchers and Innovators Network (ZERIN). A network that will create a platform of interaction among environment researchers and innovators as well as a bridge between related government agencies and relevant stakeholders with researchers and innovators. We hope for the best, and many thanks to TUNZA Ecogeneration for such a platform and experience.. Untill we paint it green. Green Cheers from Zambia.

I am so grateful that the event was such a success! Much respect to you my friend on contributing not only to this great community of Tunza but to the people of your country!! I can't believe that you made this event on TV as well. I am sure that many young people were motivated and inspired by you!

What a nice program you organized!
I'm sure some great idea have been shared through the program, and some of them will actually change the world in the near future.
Programs like this where people can share their ideas are actually really good in the sense that some ideas can be combined to make even more productive ideas. Since most of the environmental issues can be resolved with innovations, I hope you continue with this great program!
