The Box Appeal is a social charity initiative run by Radisson Blu and Park Inn Hotels in the UAE, Bahrain and Cairo.  This is mainly aimed for the construction workers – one of the most underprivileged segments of our surroundings who are instrumental in all the development of our society around us.
Originally created in 2008, that takes place every year in September, the appeal has become more and more successful each year. In 2012 the campaign aims to be bigger and better than ever before.

How does it work? Quite simply, people in and around the UAE, Cairo, and Bahrain are asked to pick up a box from their nearest point and then fill this box with essential goods from a provided list.

This list includes the following items-
T-Shirt, Cap, Disposable Razor, Shaving Cream, Deodorant, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Small Hand Towels, Comb, Soap, Shampoo, Talcum powder

This year, we, the ?Green Brigade? members have taken up this initiative as a part of our social responsibilities and contributed to total 13 boxes. Recently we have gathered and filled these boxes with the items bought in bulk and then we went to hand over the same to the people responsible for the further distribution of these boxes.
