#Considered the world's most trafficked mammal, the eight species of pangolins - originating in Asia and Africa - are now classified as "vulnerable," "in danger," or "in critical danger of extinction," according to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. (IUCN) Red list of endangered species. Four of the species found in Southeast Asia are largely concentrated in Indonesia while the other four are in Africa, but all are threatened by the false belief that their scales can cure a multitude of diseases. #Compared to the dangers faced by other endangered animals such as elephants and tigers, the fate of the pangolin has failed to penetrate public consciousness in Southeast Asia. At this frantic pace of the pangolin trade in the region, this special animal will disappear before people can even get to know it. |

Hello Bal krishna
I didn't know that pangolin is in danger. In this example, again I see some people who lack of far-sighted view to the environment. Pangloin is already in danger and if it extincts, the balance of the ecosystem will break again and it will damage the human society eventually..
It's fortunate that a day is designated for pangolin day and people can be more aware of the fact that it is in danger.
Thank you for the great report!

Hey Bal!
It's Lisa.
Since pangolin is not the first animal that you would expect to see in Korea, I think people really barely know it and although South Korea is not really considered as Southeast Asian country, I do agree with you that we are in lack of consciousness for this specific creature. I really think it's sincere of you to tell people of the animal so that it can get help along with other endangered animals!
Enjoyed reading it:)
