The word 'Technology' refers to machinery and equipment developed from the application of scientific knowledge. And it also true that we are currently living in the aid of technologies. In this report, I will connect the Environment with Technology. The Negative Impact of Technology on the Environment: 1. Air and Water Pollution: Emerged from the industrial activities such as: Power stations, factories, burning fossils fuels, vehicles etc. 2. Heavy Consumption of Natural Resources: The more increase in advance technology and infrastructural activities, the more shortage of Natural Resources. Deforestation, mining for fossil fuels and minerals, contamination of resource are the major consequences. Despite the negative impact, Technology also brings some positive benefits to the environment. Environmental Technology- 'Green' or 'Clean' technology has the main objective to minimize the effects of environmental problems and aims for the sustainable uses of the Nature resource. The technology uses the concept of renewable energy that means the energy from a source that is not depleted when used. For e.g.: wind or solar power. Some of the common Green and Clean Technology used in Environment are: Electric Vehicles: More Eco-friendly than Fossil Fuel Powered vehicles. Helpful in reducing the harmful air from exhaust emissions. As a result, it doesn't contribute in air pollution and doesn't bring any negative impacts on the environment. Solar Cells: Can be renewed. No contribution in air pollution. It doesn't depend upon the fossils fuel. It also helps in reducing the Carbon footprints. Photo: ©Singularity Hub |

You mentioned some advantages and disadvantages of using technologies.
I agree that there are both sides of coin, so the matter is how wise those technologies are utilized. Since there is big potential of technology, I believe it is possible to stop polluting the earth and restore the damaged regions!

As someone who's currently studying chemical engineering, I can tell you that there is a constant stream of incredible developments on solar cell tech! It's nice to see people considering them a staple of going green :)

Yes, there are definitely ways that we can steer the direction of technological development to a more environmentally sustainable way and I think an electric vehicle is a great example. In my country Korea, there are more and more people using it despite the lack of necessary infrastructures they are willing to take those inconveniences. Also, the government is trying to implement more facilities needed for electric cars like the charging stations!
I think we can expect more electric cars worldwide very soon:)
