Food waste is an issue in most countries around the world. It is higher in countries like mine, where a higher percentage of the population depends on agriculture. Many people are not aware of the fact that Food waste that ends up in landfills produces a large amount of methane – a more powerful greenhouse gas than even CO2. For the uninitiated, excess amounts of greenhouse gases such as methane, CO2 and chloroflurocarbons absorb infrared radiation and heat up the earth’s atmosphere, causing global warming and climate change. Therefore, the next time, think twice of your future.

If only we could eat less and be less greedy to care more about the environment that simple it is to solve this seemingly huge problem. And plus, reducing food waste is also related to being aware of the people who are suffering from famine in the other parts of the world. Instead of overtly consuming more than we could manage, we should try to think of some ways that we can share these surpluses with others.

I agree that food waste is one of the serious environmental issues. Fortunately, I believe that this issue can be handled is people put some more effort on daily basis. People's collaborative effort will make difference regarding to this issue!

This disposed food waste which will even have a negative effect on the environment could have been well kept and used to prepare an organic manure. Thanks for sharing with us.
