Hello guys!!
Today I'm gonna talk about air pollution in the northern part of my country. I was born in Chiang Rai ,The northest province of Thailand. We have 2 boarders with Myanmar,Laos which is where most of the PM 2.5 came from and there is almost 40 millions cars (Including motorcycles) in Thailand which creates tons of air pollution. (PM 2.5 - Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is an air pollutant that is a concern for people's health when levels in air are high. PM2.5 are tiny particles in the air that reduce visibility and cause the air to appear hazy when levels are elevated. Outdoor PM2.5 levels are most likely to be elevated on days with little or no wind or air mixing. The New York State Departments of Health (DOH) and Environmental Conservation (DEC) alert the public by issuing a PM2.5 Health Advisory when PM2.5 concentrations in outdoor air are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups.) ![]() Source : FACEBOOK/CHECKIN CHIANGMAI The result of burning forest along the border and our activities that create air pollution are affecting our daily life, we have to buy the mask to protect ourselves and some of people here can't afford it .PM 2.5 also affects our respiratory system in long term and if we have to spend times outdoor, that's going to be a rough day for us all. Unfortunately, government seems not to take this as "THE SERIOUS PROBLEM" but news said that PM 2.5 kills almost 40,000 people in Thailand every year and still doesn't show any sign to stop, WE ARE IN DANGER !! According to my research , the best way to solve this problem is to limit use of personal cars and stop burning our green. It's our responsibility to help this world and we need everyone's power to help making changes. Another way for all of you (International part) to help Thai people is supporting this campaign. 1.Click into the link (No virus) 2.Click the translate button (Top right) 3.Click Sign in to support 4.That's it Thanks!! "Access to clean air is everyone's right. We are calling on the Pollution Control Department to raise the PM2.5 standard in the general atmosphere of Thailand to meet the highest goals of the World Health Organization. To protect the health and life of the people". - Green Peace Thailand Resource Hope you all have a great day ^-^ Poomrapee Sommana (Porsche) |

Hi Poomrapee Sommana, this is Sang Su Lee, a mentor.
I heard the foreboding prediction that if this trend of air pollution continues, new born babies will have shorted predicted lives than current generation. It affects people's lungs detrimentally. In South Korea too, the government has endeavored to reduce fine dust, but government's policy is not working well. I hope people would have chances to think that there is something more important than just the development.

Hello Poomrapee Command, this is mentor Taehyun!
Thank you for the report about your country! It is sad to hear that PM 2.5 fine dust made 40,000 people annually in Thailand. In my country(S.Korea) it also has a serious problem with fine dust and because of dust, many people got lung-related diseases. And your research result is true. We have to eliminate fine dust origin from our surrounding(e.g. Petroleum car, fuel power plant, etc.) And thank you for introducing a participation link to us! We will strongly support you!
Thank you for the report!
Green cheers!
