plastic challenge

by Amen Allah Souli | 21-03-2020 08:05 recommendations 0

According to World Wide Fund for Nature 56% of plastic pollution remains on the sea surface 1 year after leakage, taking up to a decade to reach its final destination. Tunisian coasts are affected by the strong currents of the Sicily Straight, which draw waste towards open waters. Tunisia has the 4th lowest per capita levels of plastic good consumption in the region. However, Tunisian plastic products could be leaking into nature in other parts of the world, as the country exported 11% (38kt) of its plastic goods in 2016 . In fact , Tunisians use a lot of plastic in water , jus and food bottles in our day to day . However ,Many Tunisians throw it without thinking of its negative impact in the environment .

That¡¯s why our neighbor Abdel Majid has created a challenge to the kids of the neighborhood To collect garbage and plastic bottle in order to clean it and the most person who collect plastic he will receive a gift from him . The idea was so successful and the kids were motivated . The challenge was a mind reflection to know that bottles and plastics are not good and can effect human being and mother nature. The challenge was simple but it has sculpted inside of our mind because it encouraged our team work and it was a good environmental souvenirs

Hi Amen Allah Souli, this is Sang Su Lee.

Yes, it's indeed true that plastic waste has become a serious environmental problem. Plastic does not decompose easily and this causes detrimental effects on the ecosystem. However, I am glad that there is a person who endeavors to reduce plastic waste. Abdel is using positive reinforcement, a psychology technique to reinforce one's behaviors. I hope this kind of technique is applied to create many creative activities like Abdel did. Thank you for your report.

    Good job!

Hello Amen Allah Souli! This is mentor Taehyun.

Thank you for the report about plastic pollution. Plastic pollution is a great problem confronted with us. And people like your neighbors who collect plastic are really helpful to our environment. Cause plastic waste almost impossible to disintegrate in the state of nature, and even if it disintegrates, it can change into microplastic, and that can cause more serious problems to the ocean biosystem. So we keep recycle and reuse plastic products!

    Thank you for the report!

    Green cheers!
