[Free Report] Nuclear Power Generation – by the UAE Last Friday on 31-Jul-20, Barakah nuclear power station, located in the outskirts of Abu-Dhabi Emirate, began producing nuclear power. This has taken the hard work of over a decade since UAE announced its decision to go nuclear. At that point of time, such an announcement seemed strange from one of the top oil producing nations. But the reason for it was elegantly expressed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, in an address to the Government Summit three years ago. “In 50 years, when we might have the last barrel of oil, the question is: when it is shipped abroad, will we be sad?” he asked. “If we are investing today in the right sectors, I can tell you we will celebrate at that moment.” Abu Dhabi is the city that oil built, but its continuing prosperity depends on an economy that is diversified into many fields. Today, 98 per cent of UAE’s energy comes from gas-fired stations. It is in the interest of the country’s future energy security that all eyes are now on the power plant. It implies that UAE has shifted its focus from using oil fired energy generation to gas fired station. It is a welcome move but nuclear energy is by far the clean and guilt free source of energy. The UAE nuclear power plant is operated & managed by mostly Emirati scientists, mostly women. Therefore, local talent is encouraged for the national interest. Moreover, the station is built in a safe & sustainable manner. This is arguably the most advanced in the world, with a design life of 60 years. The site is geologically stable and free of earthquake risk. The seaside location also provides an inexhaustible supply of water for cooling. The start-up of Unit 1 on Friday marked the first time that the reactor safely produced heat, which is used to create steam, turning a turbine to generate electricity. Thank you for dealing with nuclear power. I believe that it has double-edged sword. It can create a lot of energy, but at the same time poses great dangers to the environment if not dealt carefully.

Thank you for the introduction of nuclear power plants! This is my personal opinion, but I think that nuclear power plants, if properly managed, are truly future energy. In fact, renewable energy is developing day by day, but energy efficiency is not high enough for large-scale power generation, and production costs are high. There is a risk to radioactive waste, but if it can manage it well, it has very little greenhouse gas emissions, and above all, it's a very efficient energy, so I hope that nuclear power plants continue to operate with the presence of radioactive waste development technology.
