Franklin D. Roosevelt said, ¡°We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future¡± . On the occassion of International Youth Day Event organized by Youth Thinkers' Society and ita chapters, I was invited as guest speaker as Regional Ambassador to Tunza EcoGeneration sharing my eco journey and discuss on sustainable goal number 13.
About the program: On tbe occasion of International Youth Day 2020, The chapters of Youth Thinkers¡¯ Society are forging a platform for young minds from Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, and Lamjung to pursue knowledge on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and also have in-person interaction with Youth activist of Nepal. With the theme of ¡° Youth Engagement for Global Action,¡± our selected young leaders will be using this platform to learn and get involved to develop an insight into current global scenarios. The event "Youth Voice" was held from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM NST via zoom. As a guest speker I was requested to share What major problems in my field i feel are necessary to be addressed?, What have i been doing, how have you involved myself to mitigate it,What are the challenges that i have faced in that course? and How can other children and youth get involved in helping? focuing on Sustainable Goal No. 13 "Climate Action". I started sharing my climate journey, experiences and achievements. Then i gave a short introduction to climate change, causes and impacts. Then, I shared the climate actions that are taken globally, that youths can take individually and as a team and ended with the ways for youth to start their climate journey. This year's International Youth Day highlights youth engagement in global action and also to open more opportunities for the said sector to participate in the building of a more-sustainable, post-pandemic society. My message on environmental sustainability "COVID-19 [pandemic] has made an impact on global health and economy but it has also shown positive rays of hope for the environment. We must make the positive changes seen during this period to be sustainable. We must find the hidden eco-hero inside us to protect the planet, advocate for a better future, and reduce our carbon footprint." was also shared by Alpha Team Organization as their campaign on International Youth Day. |

Hi Kushal Naharki, this is a mentor, Sang Su Lee.
It is so nice that you participated as a guest speaker to highlight the importance of awareness of the environment (especially for the youth). It is indeed imperative to educate the youth because he or she will be the one who will lead the future.
Green cheers~!

Hello Kushal this is mentor Taehyun!
Yesterday, You had this conference to celebrate International Youth Day! It's really cool. A true future generation who cares about the environment! The first words I mentioned are very memorable. The older generation can't always build a future for us, but they can raise us right. The importance of green education emerges.
Thank you for the report!
Green cheers!
