Hello guys, this is my first report as an ambassador, hope you enjoy it.
Vietnam, which is famous for rivers and oceans is surrounded by 3260 kilometers of sea. However, in the recent year, ưater pollution in Vietnam is at an alarming rate and it affects not only to people's lives but also to other creatures. The reasons lead to this situation are: first, in industrial zones, hundreds of production units ( large and small ) have discharge tons of untreated waste-water directly to the pipes , as a result, organic pollutants, intact metals in the country is penetrated into water source; second, because oil extraction contributes a lots to Vietnam's economy so there are lots of oil scaffolding; some accidents related to oil took place and they affected to the water source dramatically; thirdly, the abuse of fertilizers and plant protection substances in agriculture production also leads to polluted canals, rivers. This situation leads to extremely harmful consequences to people and other living creatures. To people : according to statistics: each year, there are nearly 9000 people die and nearly 100000 cases of cancer because of using polluted water. In some regions, the rate of people who are stuck with diseases related to water contaminated such as diarrhea with ecoli bacteria, dermatitis, or eye diseases are increasingly common and potentially spread into epidemics. To economy : water contaminated dramatically affects Vietnam¡¯s economy because it wastes time and money to handle and prevent pollution, techniques which are used to prevent the consequences such as biological filters, chemical filters and sand filters are extremely expensive compared to preventive measures. At the same time, those techniques also depends on the type, location and acreage of pollution. To other creatures: sea creatures easily consume those contaminated pollution, it leads to the change on biological platform of that creature, other creatures which consume creatures after biological change are also under affect, including Vietnamese. As a result, it affects dramatically to the ecosystem of Vietnam. |

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that there is such a severe water contamination in Vietnam. In Uzbekistan also issues with water shortage. And of course all of it harmful impacts to the environment and people's health. In all countries both government and citizens should take efforts.

Thanks for your first report, water pollution is a problem here in Ghana as well. Our water bodies get polluted through illegal activities such as mining, and this leads to destruction of the environment as you have rightly stated.
Sincerely,
Justice Obiri

Hi Nhu, this is your mentor WooJoo :)
Korea is one of the countries that has been designated as having Water Stress.
It means that careful control of water and more strict restrictions should be present in order to prevent worsening of water pollution, but it seems not to be easy.
I agree that water pollution will lead to destruction of food chain, and it will affect wildlife as much as human.
Thank you for your contribution to Tunza community!
Take care and green cheers :)
Best wishes,

Hello Nhu!
It's your SJ mentor.
There's such a serious water pollution issue in Vietnam.
In the mid of 20th century there were a lot of similar cases in Koera, too.
In 1991 phenol(harmful organic material) was leaked to water supply source in Daegu.
Tremendous damage occurred such as abortion, crops were withered away.
After that disaster strict law was legislated to avoid leakage accidents.
I think we should make an effort to establish more eco-friendly statute.
Green cheers!
Sincerely,
SJ mentor
