The Ecosystem Is Breathing Free (Free Topic) |

The world right now is grappled with a virus but each cloud has its silver lining. So is the case with the ecosystem and its revival during the pandemic. With reduced human infiltration and lockdowns imposed the amount of contamination and pollution level came to an all time low in India. The smallest chimneys, factories, work spaces were shut to contain the deadly virus but this in turn prompted a breath of fresh air for our coexisting species. Lets talk about some of these amazing ways how the earth is coping up simultaneously while dealing with the pandemic.
Delhi, the national capital once ranked the most polluted city by WHO in 2014 used to have a staggering air quality index if 200 which was highly dangerous and unsafe but following the lock down it dropped to a mere 20 not only that people living in the northern parts of the country could now see a spectacle that they couldnt even see in their wildest dreams that is the Himalyas , yes, you heard that right people could now see the great ranges from their balconies. The skies became clear as a crystal . There were no signs of smoke or dust to be seen just sprawling blue skies. I myself was amazed to see beautiful rainbows in the skies which appeared during the lockdown after generous rains. We saw the endangered Ganga Dolphins return to the river in almost after three decades as the water cleared up. The Haridwar gets were another scene you could for the first time see pebbles sitting underneath the glassy flow of the sacred river. Flamingoes flocked in greater numbers to the Maharatrian shore. The scene could be called as beautiful lillies floating in calm waters. Traffic pollution reduced to great extent , the average nitrogen dioxide levels declined by 40-50% in the cities of Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad, compared with the same period in 2018 and 2019. Even though we have to stay home during times like this they are also a reminder how we should not exploit our resources and how beautifully we both can grow if we learn to coexist and not overpower. We are given in bounty but greed is what overpowers Nature's generosity to give. So we must learn to conserve, protect and effectively use the natural resources. Here are some pictures of the changed environment in India. I hope you liked it. Let me know how your country has shown changes during the lockdown.

Hi dear WooJoo I am happy you liked the pictures and yes as things start opening again pollution and problems are bound to increase so we must take adequate steps to control the deteriorating conditions. To ensure we have a clean environment we must be first stay aware, act and then finally plan to work on it by planting , using sustainable means, etc. If we take the necessary steps we can definitely have a clean environment

Hi dear Malika , I hope people become more and more aware about what is good for environment and start taking appropriate measures, if we constantly try to inform the public about the ill effects of their activities they would understand and help contribute to the nature and its growth

Hi dear SJ you are right about things becoming the same as they were ,that is where our voice comes , we as young people should try to raise awareness about climate change , work hand in hand effectively with policy making organisations, encourage people to plant and nurture this would definitely help create change.

Hi Anoushka, this is your mentor WooJoo :)
The pandemic caused a lot of changes, including our lifestyles, the climate etc.
My country is also experiencing huge changes in the climate and weather.
Due to the lockdown of various plants, we have no more fine dust in the atmosphere.
Fine dust was causing a lot of health issues, so I am happy that it is gone, although it is temporary.
We all hope that the pandemic will end soon, but ate the same time, we are having the change to live in a clean, fresh atmosphere.
I'm glad that the city has become non-polluted area again, and I love the photos that you showed us.
Hope that these scenery continues just like the photos.
Thank you for your contribution to Tunza community!
Best regards,

Thanks for sharing. Agree, the lockdown has really good impact to the environment.
But over time all factories will resume work. And I hope will be created new technologies that aren't so harmful. And the nature will be kept clean and beautiful

Hello Anoushka!
It's your SJ mentor.
I've heard that beautiful scene was attracted attention throughout the world cause by COVID-19 pandemic.
As you stated, most of factories, industrial complex was shut down.
Unfortunately in nowadays greater part of firms are operating their factories to turn around the economy.
Consequently I can't see sprawling blue skies anymore.
To get back to clean environment all nations must develop harmless technologies to our nature. Also Individuals should make an effort to reduce green-house gases such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide, etc.
Let's work hard to restore our natural environment and hand our earth down to descendants as a treasure.
Sincerely,
SJ mentor
