Ecological catastrophe in Kamchatka.

by Malika Rustamova | 09-10-2020 22:15 recommendations 0

Several days ago, opening social media, I was horrified that my feed was filled with strange photos of the ocean and its shores.  Reading several articles, I understood that in the eastern Kamchatka region of Russia, happened an ecological catastrophe.

The first to sound the alarm were surfers, who began to feel bad after classes near Khalaktyrsky beach - they complained about painful eyes, sore throat, vomiting, and high temperature. Later, was reported that the water turned yellow,  and the famous bay was strewn with the corpses of ocean marine dwellers. According to scientists, 95% of marine life along the seabed in Avacha Bay has been killed.

What is causing the eco-disaster on the shores of Kamchatka?

Testing shows the water is filled with toxic chemicals, but no one seems to know from where.  The scientists assume that that the scale of the disaster will only increase. Some surviving species are likely to die in the near future because their food supply has been destroyed. Also, the researchers believe the area of pollution is much wider than the territories they investigated.

Overall, I think it is a global problem if it is not somehow solved, these toxins can have a harmful impact on other parts of the Pacific ocean.

I feel sorry things that happened recently.
I read news that some surfers lost their sight, fish died by the Thousands
Hope that cause of the accident will immediately be determined.
We must figure out what raised this problem and establish a policy.

    Hello Malika,
    this is your mentor WooJoo.

    Warm greetings from South Korea.
It is sad to hear that such a catastrophe happened in Kamchatka.
I hope the scientists find out soon what is causing such a disaster,
what type of toxin is that, and from where it came from.
I hope the toxins are not dispersed much, and that other nearby regions stay safe.
It would be more informative if you add more numeral information or date data to the report, so the people can get to know when it started happening exactly, or how many people were affected by the toxic chemicals.

Thank you for letting us know about current issues in Kamchatka.

    Best wisehs,
    WooJoo
