Introduction

Lemon Clamitis is a herbal medicinal plants native to South Asian countries like Nepal and India. It is found in Himalayas from Kashmir to North East, Assam, Info China region. The local name of Lemon Clamitis is Junge Laharaa. The scientific name of Lemon Clamitis is Clematis buchananiana. It belongs to Ranunculaceae family. Leaves are the major part used for medicines. It is used mainly in the treatment cough and cold. Basically, leaves juice is very fruitful for medical purpose.

It is also called as fragnant Chinese Clematis. It is a woody vine, densely yellowish velvety. Leaves are compound. Leaflet blades are broadly ovate, ovate or elliptic. Flowers are borne in cymes in leaf axis, usually many flowered, panickle like. Bracts are leaf like or simple, ovate to lanceolate.

A paste of roots is used as pout lice to treat swellings caused by inflammation. The root juice is used in the treatment of peptic ulcers. The juice of roots and leaves are also used to treat coughs and cold. Root bark and stem paste is kept pressed against the teeth to relive toothache. The plant juice is applied extremely to cuts and wounds. It also AIDS in treatment of indigestion.

This plant is known with different names in Nepal like charchare, pahelo Junge, ghante phool, kushani lahara, baagh Junge, etc.
