Petroleum products are used to run vehicles. As, petroleum products are non renewable sources of energy which are the major contributor of the air pollution. With the development in technologies, we do have electric vehicles for transportation as well. "Bicycle" are popular eco mobility methods around the world. Bicycles are preferred by people as they are eco friendly methods of transportation as well as cycling help to maintain good health. The advantages of cycling are: - They are ecofriendly method of transpiration. - They don't use non renewable sources such as petroleum products saving the resources for future generation - Cycles are cheaper mode of transpiration compared to private vehicles. - Cycling is good for health as it strengthens the muscle and enhances cardiovascular fitness There are transportation ways developed for the vehicles. As it is risky to drive cycles in the highways with bushes and trucks. Hence, Cycle lanes are build in various places to promote cycling. In the bigger cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara, the metropolitan has planned to prepare cycle lanes as well. Lalitpur Metropolitan City inaugurated the first 4.7 kilometre cycle lane from Kupondole, Jawalakhel to Mangal Bazaar in 2019. There is organization called Nepal cycle society which is promoting cycling in Nepal. Cycle lanes should be built to ensure the safety of the people and promote eco mobility services like cycling. In the bigger cities where there are increasing number of vehicles, government bodies must promote cycling as the alternative mode of transportation. People should be awared about the benefits of cycling. |

Hello Kushal!
It's your SJ mentor.
Thank you for introducing your eco-friendly lifestyle regarding transportations.
I also think that riding bicycle is the best way to practice green life when it comes to nearby area.
But in case of medium and long distances, we should consider another green mobilities such as EVs.
I am happy to hear that Nepal is going to build cycle lanes in the bigger cities.
Here in Seoul, it is hard to construct cycle lanes because of cost.
So, we divide the sidewalk in half to make a bicycle path.
Hope things are fine with you.
Best regards,
SJ mentor.
