¡°My experience being an Environmental Educator¡± I am currently Forestry undergraduate at Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University. I am fervid towards environment and wildlife conservation since from my early college days. 2019 was my prolific year as I got the paramount opportunities to engage school children¡¯s through an array of environment conservation-based education campaigns and orientation sessions in almost every remote hills of Sindhuli District, Nepal. I have been serving as a program assistant since 2019 in an environmental-based NGO called Teka Samuha Nepal. During January 2019, we got the wonderful opportunity to undertook some of the environment conservation related annual program of Division Forest Sindhuli. We visited 10 higher public schools of the district with the prime aim to disseminate the conservation knowledge to school students and aware them on the burning environment issues like climate change, deforestation, environment pollution, waste management and degradation. Both audio and visual methods were used to engage the school students during education campaigns and orientation sessions. Similarly, in February 2019, we have been supported by Municipality Office, Sindhuli Madhi, Nepal to form a school-based eco-clubs in five Community school. In the same way as before, we disseminate environment conservation knowledge to the students through PowerPoint presentation and documentary videos. After all, we formed 11 members eco-clubs with one environment science teacher of the respective school as a club advisor. I really relished the above-mentioned education programs and it was such a wonderful moment to the conservation practitioners like me. My ultimate motive is to engage with local people and school children & to bring the beautiful smile on their faces. I owe the innumerable love with the environment, forest and wildlife and I categories them as my best pals as well as my family members. My life-long goal is to embrace them so that my forthcoming generation can spy the beautiful world and pass the same enthusiasm towards many generations. |

Hello Nisha,
this is your mentor WooJoo.
Wamr greetings from South Korea.
Thank you for sharing such an interesting report based on your experience.
I am glad to read your report, and get to know what you did as an environmental educator,
and the photo seems so nice and cute!
Everything to increase awareness and to keep the sustainability is based on education, and it should come the first place.
I believe that it was a wonderful experience for the students too,
and hopefully schools and other organizations can augment environmental education sections,
and support educators like you.
Also, I am curious about what you learn in your major, since Forestry is not very a common field in here!
Keep sharing
Regards,
WooJoo

Hello Nishan!
It's your SJ mentor.
Warm greetings from Korea!
Thank you for sharing your report on your experience as an environmental educator.
It is great to conduct environmental education in conjunction with the local community.
Since environmental education is rarely included in regular school classes, I hope there will be more opportunities to participate in such activities through special lectures or club activities.
Through education, we will be able to know the importance of the environment from an early age and try to protect it.
I applaud your efforts to protect the environment.
Hope things are fine with you.
Keep writing!
Best regards,
SJ mentor.
