Deforestation

by sandy charles | 28-02-2021 09:13 recommendations 0

From 14 million hectares of forest in the '60s, Guinea now finds itself with less than 700,000 hectares. This excessive deforestation therefore makes Guinea one of the bad pupils in forest conservation. The country is unfortunately one of the countries with the fastest rates of deforestation in the world. A situation that is both worrying and appalling, which today worries both governors and ruled The diversity of the Guinean forest according to the natural regions directly reflects the economic and social practices of the populations. Hold ! In Maritime Guinea, the dense forest that once existed on the coastal plain of Guinea has almost disappeared. Only one relic remains (for scientific reasons), in a naturally protected site in Kaméléya, in Forécariah prefecture. The savannas resulting from fallows which develop quite easily in the plain are at the mercy of the flames every year. The same situation prevails in the prefecture of Kissidougou according to the forest guards. Source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.guineenews.org/dossier-deforestation-effrenee-en-guinee

    Hello Sandy!
    It's your SJ mentor.

I hope everything will come out all right.
Thank you for writing a report on Guinea's forests.
It's a pity that the forest has decreased at a very fast pace in 60 years.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Korea was devastated by excessive logging for firewood, but the government's forest restoration project led to dense forests.
When forests are lost, natural appeals for water storage disappear, and the ground becomes weak, causing frequent landslides.
I hope we can solve this problem through the forest restoration project.

    Green cheers!

    Best regards,
    SJ mentor.

    Greetings from Nepal

Deforestation become one of the serious problem in your country. People cut down tress in unmanaged way to sell the timber products, to convert into agricultural land in our country.I think government should implement strict rules and regulations to reduce deforestation .

    keep writing, keep sharing
I am eagerly waiting for next report.

    Regards
    Dolma

    Hello Sandy,
    this is your mentor WooJoo.

    Warm greetings from South Korea.
Thank you for sharing current concers of deforestation in Guinea.
It is so sad to hear that Guinea is experiencing deforestaiton for such a long time,
and now I can understand better your previous report, in which marked the importance of tree planing in your country.
Recycling and using less paper, packing materials, and searching for other alternative materials to replace the trees would be helpful,
and strict policies regarding the problem seems to be required.

Sandy, your reports are falling short of lenght, so please write longer!

    Take care

    Regards,
    WooJoo
