This is my first report as regional ambassador of ecogeneration from my country.Today I will share about report about international women day.

 Every year international women’s day is celebrated on March 8 2021 all around the world to inspire women to act towards gender equality. The theme for international women day is choose to challenge which emphasizes the importance of challenging the partiality and misunderstanding to create gender equality around the world. United nation announces the theme of women day 2021 is “Women in leadership; achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” This theme recognizes the marvelous contribution of all women and girls globally during this pandemic. Women works at front line during this pandemic as health worker, community organizers, leaders to take action against this Coronavirus. Women leaders and women’s organizations have shown their knowledge, potential and ability to tackle with this pandemic. Women of world are struggling against with domestic violence, poverty, and unemployment.

HISTORY

 In United States the first national women day is celebrated on 28^th February. The concept of international women   day was influenced from American national day . Socialist Party of America announced the first national women’s day on February 28, 1909 . National women day celebration endure to 1913. Second international conference of working women was conducted in Copenhagen in 1910. Clara Zetkin who is leader of women office for Social Democratic Party in Germany has purposed idea of international women day to press for their demands. Around 100 women from 17 countries have participated in this conference.  International women day was first celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on 19^th march. More than one million women and men participated on rallies and campaign which was organized on occasion of international women day. Following discussions, International Women’s was agreed to be marked annually on March 8.

In context of Nepal women and girls are still facing many problems and challenges. However, More than 14,000 were appointed in different berth of local, provincial, federal government, women are still striving to get their rights in leadership and political participation. Owing to social norms and values, women’s limited access to information women’s voice are suppressed. One in four women are victims of women violence in our country. Women are facing risk of physical, sexual, and emotional violence. We women should participate in every sectors of country. All individual have a role to create gender equality.
