[Free Report] - Greetings from Aiyang in China

by Aiyang Zheng | 14-03-2021 17:09 recommendations 0

Hi everyone, I am Aiyang Zheng from Shenzhen in South China. In my first report, I would like to introduce myself more and my city as well.

I am a 13-year-old Chinese girl, studying at Cuiyuan Junior Middle School. I live with my parents, a younger sister, and a cute cat named Little Grey. I like sports. Currently, I am a member of Sailing Club and Femal Basketball Team in my school. I enjoy these outdoor activities because I would like to interact with the nature. As a result, I think that protecting the environment is very important for us all over the world.

I also like travelling and making friends. In addition to many places of interest in China, I used to visit other countries such as the Netherlands, Finland, Italy, Crotia,Baltic countries and Malaysia. During these journeys, I have learned many different cultures and useful knowledge, from which I benefit a lot.

In terms of my study, my favourite subject is Mathematics. In the future, I want to be a mathematician.

My city, Shenzhen, is very yong. Located in South China, Shenzhen only has a histroy of 40 years. However, as one of China's Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Shenzhen has achieved significant accomplishments, economically and socially. With less than 2,000 square kilometer land size, Shenzhen has become China's tech hub and regional financial centre. For example, many world-known high-tech firms such as Huawei, Tencent, etc are headquartered in Shenzhen.

However, Shenzhen is facing environmental challenges. There are about 15 million residents living in crowded Shenzhen, causing many socal and environmental problems. For example, less than 30% households own their houses, the lowest in the Great Bay Area (GBA) including Hong Kong. Moreover, the high population density has negative effects on water, air, and transportation.

In order to resolve these challenges, Shenzhen government is working hard with local firms and residents to find solutions, including environmental education and public awareness. In the forthcoming thematic reports, I am going to discuss more in detail.

    Hi Aiyang,

This is your mentor Debbie. :)

Welcome to Tunza! It??s good to see a friend from home - I actually lived in Guangzhou, which is right next to Shenzhen, for around 10 years. When I visited Shenzhen it was beautiful too (especially Da Mei Sha!)

Anyways, I agree that since Shenzhen is highly industrial, it is facing environmental challenges. It would be great if you could write about how local people in Shenzhen are trying to help the environment too! With that said, there must be some great business headquarters in Shenzhen paving their way to a brighter, more eco-friendly future as well.

Keep up with the work! I??ll wait for more reports from you.

Green Cheers,
Debbie

Hi Aiyang, this is your mentor Yuseon:D

Congrats on joining us here in Tunza and for writing your successful first report.

It was good to know more about you and your city!
I was actually impressed that you city, Shenzhen, is one of China's Special Economic Zones (SEZs), having achieved many accomplishments in such a short time.
However it is sad to hear of the environmental problems caused due to high population desity. As you have said, people of your city could resolve the challenges by acknowledging the faced environmental problems, and working together as one.

    Hope it gets better soon,
    Yuseon
