Impact of Karabakh Tourism on the Azerbaijani Economy
In international practice, the tourism sector has a significant impact on the growth of the country's production potential, income levels and employment, and the development of other sectors. The tourism sector is a fast-growing sector of the economy with constantly changing demographics and a diverse geography. Forecasts based on statistical analysis suggest that the share of tourism in the economy is significant. Thus, this sector is also considered a national economic priority of many countries around the world as the main driving force of socio-economic development. In general, the impact of tourism is divided into three main categories. First, in addition to the direct impact of tourism sub-sectors such as air transport, hotels, and car rental companies on GDP, the indirect impact of other sectors also increases the importance of tourism. In addition, the tourism sector is a major provider of foreign exchange earnings for developing and transition countries; The second is the impact of the development of the tourism sector on employment and socio-economic development of the regions. Thus, any development in this sector stimulates the creation of employment opportunities not only in cities, but also in the regions and rural areas through the development of numerous types of tourism, such as ecotourism, rural tourism, beach and religious tourism; Third, the development of tourism leads to the development of infrastructure in various regions, including rural areas, by creating a strong infrastructure in the country. In addition, tourism also serves as a marketing tool for countries, as a successful tourism strategy helps to improve the country's image internationally. Finally, the tourism sector also supports efforts to promote environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, and local values. |

Thank you for writing an interesting report regarding how tourism can affect the economy. You have organized the three factors as transportation, employment, and infrastructure. You also mentioned that tourism sector also supports efforts to promote environmental sustainability. I actually have doubt that this is true, since cities with tourism have trouble with controlling trash and recycling them.

Well done for analyzing how the tourism industry is affecting the economy. It??s sad how now due to COVID-19 tourism has stopped all over the world! I cannot believe how so many air transportation businesses are under huge risk of bankruptcy.
Because tourism has so many sub-sectors and incurs lots of employment and lead to development in infrastructure, as soon as COVID-19 is over, we should focus on rebuilding the tourism industry. Even with COVID-19 we should deeply think about in what ways we can save the tourism industry.
