Topic: Business and environment

Hi everyone, I would like to apologies for sharing thematic report late. I hope to receive comments from you on my report.

 

Business is directly connected with environment. Not only business but everything we do is directly relating to environment. For operating the business, some of the major environmental issue are:

Proper waste disposal,

Carbon emission,

How to couple with environmental law,

How to maintain green supply chain and

How to ensure Sustainability.

 

Most of the nations have environmental policies that all business should follow. They have to make their effort in storing and treating waste safely, don’t produce excessive pollution, comply with rules for storage and use of hazardous substance and waste.

 

If we are starting a business, we need to focus on following:

-Proper and rational use of raw materials, water and necessary inputs

-Energy use and its impact on climate change

-Waste and pollution produced by business

-The impact that a business has on the employees and local community.

 

Business should be focused to make it sustainable one.  Sustainable business is that which has no negative impact on the environment. We need to focus on Sustainability as it is a key ingredient of business success, enables our business to become more efficient, develop new markets and build customer loyalty.

 

It can be achieved by considering following things:

a. Using packaging that can be reused or recycled

b. Minimizing or eliminating the use of hazardous chemicals and processes that produce harmful by-products

c. Working with suppliers to assess and improve their sustainability, or switching to more sustainable suppliers

d. Using more energy-efficient equipment, or using renewable sources of energy

e. Collaborating with other businesses that can use waste (or supply by-products that can be used as raw materials)

f. Eliminating unnecessary activities - e.g. replacing some business travel with conference calls instead.
