Green Architecture and the Environment With the rising pollution, rises the need to come about with practical solutions to decrease pollution levels and global warming. Who said that the infrastructure cannot support greenery and is to be associated only with the clearing of a green land? Green Architecture has proven this school of thoughts wrong! As the name suggests, it is something that incorporates greenery in the buildings. To be more precise, Green architecture is a philosophy of architecture that advocates sustainable energy sources, the conservation of energy, the reuse and safety of building materials, and the siting of a building with consideration of its impact on the environment. The Pixel Building in Australia is an example of Green Architecture. India too contributes to the Green Architecture, as is seen by the Green Buildings that line the roadsides of the Indian streets. A green building is one which uses less water, optimizes energy efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less waste and provides healthier spaces for occupants, as compared to a conventional building. The Indian green building council (IGBC) is the leading green building movement in the country. The components of the Green Buildings that have been laid down by the IGBC are as follows:
According to the IGBC, the Top Green Buildings in India are:
The official site of the IGBC for further information is: https://igbc.in/igbc/ It is widely known that India uses the following Green Building materials, all of which are of course environmental friendly:
While most of the countries have made use of the noble idea of Green Architecture, it is yet on a small scale. To bring it on a much larger scale, that we see all of our buildings green, we must raise awareness and bring it to the governments notice, that we want a Green Architecture. And this is not just for India, but all nations for the earth provides support not just for one country, but for all the nations. And hence, I call all the Tunza Eco-Generation Members and Ambassadors to SIGN THIS PETITION so we all can, as a whole, make this change! Sign this petition |

Hi Kamakshi,
This is your mentor Debbie. :)
It??s great to hear about policies in India striving for Green Architecture. Some of the topics that are needed to be considered sound familiar as a part of green architecture as well. Is there more quantitative information regarding these policies? I would love to know about that too!
Next time, maybe you could attach some photos of the Top Green Buildings of India. It would make everything so much more vivid in the report. :D
Keep up with the work!
Green Cheers,

Debbie

Hi Kamakshi,
This is your mentor Yuseon:D
Thanks for your excellent thematic report! This was one of the main ideas that were to be emphasized in this month's topic, how the building could be managed energy efficient to save energy.
There are diverse ways of being an eco-centric building, such as composing it with eco-friendly materials, or applying greenery to the building, but actually having environmental facilities is actually the most important part of it. It was a good point to pick out.
Enjoyed reading your report!
Keep up the good work,
Yuseon

Dear Kamakshi,
Hope you are doing well. This has been so informative to read that in your country there are even councils to tack with an issue! I hope we will have too such councils related to greenery. Keep the good work!
Green cheers,
Vazira.
