Integrated Pest Management is a method of protecting crop enemies (diseases, insects, weeds, birds, rats, etc.) from economically equitable, environmentally sustainable and socially acceptable crops. It uses more than one integrated management method to reduce the use of chemical pesticides.

Key Principles of Integrated Management

(1) Healthy crop production,

(2) Regular inspection of farms,

(3) Conservation of friendly organisms

(4) Let's make the farmers self-sufficient

Methods of integrated crop pest management

1. Use of insect repellent species, use of insect repellent.

2. Methods based on agriculture Karma crop rotation, manipulation of sowing or sowing time, field cleaning, proper mining, destruction of residues after harvesting.

3 Physical and mechanical methods of hand picking, obstruction, trapping, grain drying etc.

4. Biological use of parasites and predatory insects as well as various bacteria such as bacteria (VT), 5. Use of attractive chemicals. Use of various attractive chemicals such as methyl eugenol, Culiar and various pheromones such as heliurur, spordorulur etc.

6. Methods of domestic management

7. Hormone use Various hormones such as Apollo.

8. Use of pesticides If other methods are not controlled, use appropriate pesticides with caution.fungi, viruses (NPVs) and nematodes.

Some of the IPMs adopted by farmers in Nepal, Technologies

- Neem, Timur, Bojo, Bitter, Zwanu, Mustard oil are used to control pests and diseases in grain storage.

- Insect control of vegetable crops using wood dust, wheat, soapy water, tobacco solution.

- An ounce of orange variety of fruits and vegetables, pheromone trap for pest control, field cleaning.

- Use of Jholmal(liquid manure), cow's urine, mohi(whey) etc. prepared from local plants.

- Use of various traps to some extent.

- Use of some amount of fungal, bacterial, viral and nematode biological pesticides.

- Conservation of friendly organisms.

    Hi Bal,

This is your mentor Debbie. :)

Is this an extension to the previous article you??ve written? :D The key concepts suggested in Integrated Management sounds reasonable to me. Did you come up with them? Or which organization first disclosed such a concept? I??m just curious, haha.

It??s great to hear that some technologies are already put into practice in Nepal. It??s good to hear that wood dust, wheat or soapy water can control insects without using pesticides. This would be a much more ecofriendly method!

    Keep up with the work!

    Green Cheers,

    Debbie

    Hi Bal,
    This is your mentor Yuseon:D

This seems like the extension of the insight of your previous report. It seems to be a more specific solution. IPM has a lot of detailed methods itself, and it would be rational to choose the solution by its circumstances.

Thanks for sharing these information. It would have been even more super if we could hear your perosnal insights as well.

    Keep up the good work:)
