On the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity, lets hear from you, Campaign was organized and participant was requested to send some ideas regarding the Possible solution for some major threats causing the loss in the Biodiversity, so  participant  of this campaign are sharing some possible solution on climate change, they  came up with very insightful solution on Climate change. "Celebrating World Biodiversity Day 2021": We are the part of solution for Nature

Lets Hear Possible Solution on Climate change from some participant,

Contestant No: 03, Pranav Gaba

Problem in focusClimate Change

The Paris Agreement sets out the objective to limit the climate change to below 2 degree centigrade above pre-industrial level before 2100. In order to achieve this objective, global society needs to achieve net zero emissions, i.e. climate neutrality, by the second half of this century.

SolutionFighting climate change by making global military forces carbon neutral

Global carbon budget is estimated to be at 840 billion tons and it is true that we have already exhausted 531 billion tons. Global armed forces are a significant producer of CO2e which can be understood by the fact that in 2017, the US army alone produced 59 million tons of CO2 equivalents. Climate change can be fought by making global armed forces carbon neutral through the following ways:-

i. Green Procurement- Transforming all military fleet into hybrid or fully-electric vehicles

ii. Installation of solar power panels on all military infrastructure

iii. Making dietary changes and introducing full plant-based diet

iv. Mandating locally produced food instead of imported products

Conclusion- Introducing these measures can significantly help lower global carbon emissions and help us win the fight against climate. What is more, these measures don't need the development of any new technology to be incorporated and can be built using the existing technology. Also, they don't need large financing to be incorporated.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Possible solutions I see:

1. To make plantation compulsory for every individual by the state.

2. To implement all the international agreements and treaties made in the field of

climate and environment.

3. To set a limit for production of CFCs and major GHGs for every nation.

4. To make necessary changes and amendments in the policies and legislations to make

them more environment friendly.

5. For long-term solution, it should be made clear to people about our minimum

responsibilities as a part of nature.

6. There seems to be gap between sayings and doings among parties involved in climate

change control from global to grass root level which must be addressed.

7. People from every sector should be collaborated and made aware about their

actions that could affect environment.

8. Fossil fuel burning has been major contributor of climate change and this should be

tackled with renewable alternatives.

9. Uncontrolled deforestation, rapid population growth and unplanned urbanisation

should be checked as these are indirect measures to bring climate change.

10. Last but not the least, involvement of youths should be increased who can actually

work to reverse climate change.

Possible solution on climate change by Rubina Bhandari

Contestant No:6 Saloni Pradhan

As we all know that, climate change is one of the major problem which we all have been facing nowadays. It is significantly cause by global  warming and greenhouse gases which results rapid fluctuation in weather patterns. Beside these, deforestation, installation of  factories and industries, overgrazing, extraction of non-renewable resources and so on.our country has recently faced huge forest fire in almost 22 districts of Nepal for more than 2 weeks which dropped the quality of air which cause adverse effect in climate change. In order to overcome the effects, here are some possible solutions which we can adopt :

1. plantation  should be done from our own areas

2. Renewable resources should be used in our home like solar energy for electricity.

3. Manage waste and use less water

4. Transportation should be made eco-friendly

5. consumption of fossil fuels should be reduced.

6. Encourage the consumption of organic and local foods

7. use compost manure instead of fertilizer

8. Plastic pollution should be reduce  and manage properly

9. Induction stove should be used instead of fuel gases

10. Campaign about afforestation, waste and water management should be organized in our society for awareness .

Lets Hear from you: Possible solution on climate change

I sincerely would like to offer huge thanks to the participant for sharing your insightful solutions, and helping me to spread eco literacy.

    Hi Sandhya,

    This is your mentor Yuseon:D

This must be the extension of your previous report.
Thanks for introducing more ideas of other contestants. The topic seems to have changed from 'deforestation' to 'Climate Change'. As both of them are crucial existing problems with our environment, I see some good points have been shared:)

    Keep up the good work,
    Yuseon

Keep sharing your good intentioned events with us:)

    Hi Sandhya,

This is your mentor Debbie :)

Thank you for sharing what various contestants have suggested. There are so many different fields that we may try to achieve net zero emissions. Once we achieve net zero emissions, I believe many industries will become much more sustainable.

    Thanks for an informative article!

    Best Regards,

Debbie
