Hello!
So today I want to introduce you to one of my beloved themes on writing about - green vehicles and their story in my country. I have already told you about the plans of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to assist the municipality of Almaty in laying light rail lines. This initiative is being implemented as part of a large-scale strategy for the development of the city's transport infrastructure, which is being worked on by UNDP specialists, representatives of the community of donor organizations in Kazakhstan and the country's authorities. It is expected that the strategy will also include initiatives to develop green transport, reform the parking system, and build bicycle paths. But today I want to tell you about the complete reformation of transport in our city and the country as a whole: With the help of the Chinese manufacturer of commercial vehicles Yutong, Kazakhstan wants to abandon traditional diesel buses, writes Caspian News in the article Kazakhstan Concerned About Environmental Issues, Purchases Eco-Friendly Buses. According to the Chinese manufacturer, buses running on compressed natural gas will be put into operation in Shymkent and Atyrau by the beginning of June. A batch of 760 buses has already been delivered to Kazakhstan. The population of Kazakhstan is a little more than 19 million people. Under the Kyoto Protocol, which entered into force in 2009, Kazakhstan has pledged to reduce carbon emissions by 15% by 2020 and by 30% by 2050. The country has committed to a green economy, despite its vast fossil fuel reserves, and to produce 3% of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2020, 10% by 2030, and at least 50% by 2050. Eco-friendly electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular in Kazakhstan. As of mid-2019, about 700 such vehicles plied the country. Eco-friendly buses are not new for the largest country in Central Asia. In 2019, electric buses appeared on the roads of Aktau, located on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. Earlier this year, the Nur-Sultan Municipal government put into operation five electric buses produced jointly by Yutong and the Kazakh car manufacturer and distributor SaryarkaAvtoProm. Yutong has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2005 and currently ranks first in terms of the number of exports of large and medium-sized buses to the domestic market of Kazakhstan. As of December 2019, the company's total sales in the Central Asian country exceeded 2,000 units, accounting for more than 40% of Chinese large and medium-sized buses exported to Kazakhstan during this period. At the same time, the company owns and operates eight service stations and one spare parts warehouse in Kazakhstan. |

It's wonderful to hear that eco-friendly electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular in your country, Kazakhstan. Bringing in eco-friendly vehicles enhances the quality of air and also helps decrease Co2 emission.
As many countries and nations are working together to make it work, I expect better for the future.

It appears to me that companies across different countries are working towards a global goal of reducing carbon emissions. And utilizing green vehicles is one of their measures. Hopefully this kind of cooperation will become more active so that we can achieve the goal of UNDP. :)
