Hello everyone, Hope you all are safe and in sound health. We are overwhelmed to get such a nice response from different countries in the Pictoword Puzzle # 2 too. It was really hard for us to decide the winner among many participants with correct answers and their way to put forward their view to the short answer questions attached. Based on the correctness of the puzzle and response to attached short questions, we hereby declare Mr. Kaushal Niraula as the winner. We want to congratulate him and we will contact him soon to collect his details. Now it’s time for the finale series, Pictoword Puzzle #3, for the month June. Yes, we are back with another set of interesting 7 puzzles and 3 short answer questions. You have to just guess the word with the help of the given picture. The deadline of the series is 10th July and winner will be announced on 12th July. In your opinion, what are the main agent that help in above process? Why the above process important in environment? (Word: Pollination) Answer: In my opinion, the main agent that helps in above process i.e., pollination includes animals such as insects, birds and bats; water; winds and even plants themselves. The above process i.e., pollination is important in the environment because it plays a vital role in ecological survival function. In absence of pollination, the human race and all of the earth’s terrestrial ecosystem would not survive. Question 2. What may be the reason for its production? What are the effects of its over production? (Word: Green House Gas) Answer: The reason for its i.e., greenhouse gases production may be due to irresponsible activities done by Humans. It includes: 1. Burning of fossil fuels 2. Production of chlorofluorocarbons and nitrogen oxides. 3. Deforestation 4. Increase in population 5. Inorganic farming 6. Industrial wastes and landfills etc. Similarly, the effects of its i.e., greenhouse gases over production are; 1. Global warming 2. The melting of polar ice caps 3. Changing of climates and seasons 4. Intensifying extreme weather events 5. Depletion of ozone layer 6. Flooding of Islands and coastal areas 7. Smog and air pollution 8. Pandemics 9. Food shortages 10. Migration of species. etc. Question 3. What is the reason for using the above shown things? What are the disadvantages of using it? (Word: Insecticide) Answer: The reason for using above shown things i.e., Insecticide is to specifically target and kill insects. The disadvantages of using insecticides are:1. Loss of beneficial insect species 2. Poisoning hazards 3. Responsible pollutants 4. Affects food chain 5. Affects the quality of food 6. Honeybee and pollination decline etc. Question 4. Why do you think the above shown puzzle is a problem? What can be done to reduce it? (Word: Carbon Footprint) Answer: I think the above shown puzzle i.e., Carbon footprint is a problem because it causes various threats to environment and its components. It’s effects like; greenhouse gases emissions, climate change, depletion of resources. Disturbs the normal functioning of ecosystems and causes a loss of biodiversity as well. Thus, it is a one of the serious problems existing in our environment. Carbon footprints can be reduced through improving energy efficiency and changing lifestyles, by using renewable sources to generate energy, by controlling the production of chlorofluorocarbons etc. Question 5. Is it environment friendly? What is its effect on the environment?(Word: Electricity) Answer: Although electricity is a clean and relatively safe form of energy when it is used, the generation and transmission of electricity affects the environment. So, it is not environment friendly. It’s effects on environment includes; 1. Emissions of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants, especially when a fuel is burned. 2. Use of water resources to produce steam, provide cooling, and serve other functions. 3.Discharges of pollution into water bodies, including thermal pollution (water that is hotter than the original temperature of the water body). 4.Generation of solid waste, which may include hazardous waste. 5.Land use for fuel production, power generation, and transmission and distribution lines. 6.Effects on plants, animals, and ecosystems that result from the air, water, waste, and land impacts above. Etc. Question 6. How often do you use above technique? Share some experiences of applying the technique. (Word: Recyclable) Answer: “The above shown technique is recycling (recyclable according to the puzzle). I have used this technique several times. Recycling is a technique of adopting Zero Waste Lifestyle as well. Once, I have recycled used plastic bottles and convert them into piggy bank. As a result, it encourages me to save money for future . There is one saying also “” Little drops of water makes a mighty Ocean “”, After reading such saying I have tried my best to save money using the recycled goods for future.” Question 7. What may be the beneficial and harmful effects of above shown puzzle on environment? (Word: Microorganisms) Answer: The above shown puzzle represents microorganisms. Microorganisms are beneficial as well as harmful for environment. The beneficial effects of microorganisms on environment are: 1. They helps to increase the ability or earth to recycle the primary elements present on environment 2. They help in decomposition or biodegradation 3. They help in production of oxygen, nitrogen fixation and carbon fixation as well. Similarly, the harmful effects of microorganisms on environment are: 1. They are key factors for causing various diseases in plants and animals 2. They are causative agent of food spoilage. 3. They also causes several chronic diseases which takes the life of victims in future etc. Question 8. The given puzzle represents the integral parts of the ecosystem. How can we preserve the endangered one? (Word: Flora and Fauna) Answer: The given puzzle represents Flora and fauna (plants and animals ).Slowly the flora and fauna of our earth’s ecosystem is being extinct and some are endangered ( in verse of extinction) . Such flora and fauna which are endangered can be preserved by; 1. Introducing new conservational plans, policies and strategies. 2. Establishing various conservational areas, national parks and wildlife reserves. 3. Conserving biodiversity and ecosystem in effective way. 4. Making strict laws and regulations for those who are involved in illegal business of buying and selling of endangered species of flora and fauna. 5. Generating awareness and consciousness among all etc. Question 9. What are the principles of the puzzle 2i? (Word: Zero Waste) Answer: The puzzle 2i denotes zero Waste. The principles of the puzzle 2i are; 1. Refuse what you don’t need. 2. Reduce what you do use. 3. Reuse whatever you can. 4. Recycle what you can’t refuse or reduce. 5. Rot what’s left over. Question 10. What is the main cause behind the problem seen in _____ _____ (word from above puzzle)? (Word: Ozone Layer) Answer: The main cause behind the problem seen in ozone layer are: 1. Production of chlorofluorocarbons and nitrogen oxides. 2. Unregulated rocket launches. 3. Due to natural causes like – sunspots and stratospheric winds. 4. It is quite sad to here that it is the final series. I bet many of the Tunza ambassadors have
enjoyed this program that you have conducted. Thanks for sharing the questions and answers with us. The key words of each questions are well selected in my opinion:)

I appreciate how you are putting an explanation for the answers of the puzzle. Especially the one in question 9. Zero Waste is an important concept of the 21st century. We need to minimize the use of disposables and try to utilize resources in a smart way! “Refuse what you don??t need” is one of the things that are easily forgotten! But we should know to control ourselves from excessive shopping. :)
