. It was reported that about 27% green house gas is emitted from transportation of total green house gas emission in US. So there is an urgent need to replace with green vehicle to reduce carbon emission in our planet. Cars, trucks, minivans and sport utility vehicles are major source of transportation to produce green house gas. .Green vehicle is a motor vehicle which emits less harmful gas to environment as compared to internal combustion engines vehicles. Bicycle is one of the example of green vehicle. German Karl von Drais has invented first bicycle around 1817. His machine was first known as swiftwalker. No burning of fossil fuel is occurred in bicycle so it exhale minimum carbon dioxide. 21g of carbon footprint is produced by cycling per kilometer.According to ECF average 266g CO2 is emitted per kilometer of driving and bus produces 101g CO2 per passenger. Cycling produces less carbon foot print as compared to any mode of transportation. According to study conducted by Institute of Transportation and Development Policy in 2015 about 20 percent increase in cycling reduce carbon emission by nearly 11 percent in 2050. Bicycle produce less harmful smoke as compared to other vehicles. Cycling protects us form extreme loud voices to reduce noise pollution. Because of above reason it is regarded as ecofriendly vehicle to reduce carbon emission. Here are advantages of using bicycle 1) It is more economical as compared to other vehicles. 2) Small area of parking space is required. 3) Maintenance cost is low rather than car. 4) Cycling is beneficial for our health. Disadvantages of bicycle 1) It don¡¯t protect from rain or snow or heat. 2) There may be problem of tyre puncture easily. 3) Long distance travel cannot be covered. 4) Passenger capacity is limited. 5) Risk of accident is more in urban area Replacing car journey with cycling can be done from indivisual. In our country Nepal due to mismanagement in construction of road in urban area people don¡¯t prefer to use bicycle. Government should be responsible to promote cycling. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/is-bike-sharing-really-climate-friendly/ |

Hi Dolma,
This is your mentor Yuseon:D
Wow I overlooked bicycles, but it is true!
It is one of the most traditional and well known vehicles, and as it doesn't emit
any harmful gas, it is possible to be classified as green vehicles.
To think simple, it could be said that it only has different ways of moving, and has a different source of energy; as it uses man power.
In Seoul, Korea, there is a public bike called 'Ddareung-i' and it is one of my favorite transportation for short distance. Hope many would go back and use bicycles for simple ways.
Thanks for sharing:)

Dear Dolma,
This is your mentor Debbie. :)
Do you love cycling? As a big fan of cycling, I bike around many places in Seoul. Here we have a city bike rental system where we can borrow a bike for a small fee for an hour or two, and return them at designated places. The borrowing and returning stations are so common in the city area in Seoul that I can almost go anywhere by bike! :)
Today I also biked back home after my work was done. Thanks for introducing about a ¡°truly¡± green vehicle where we use the energy from our body. Keep up the work, Dolma! :)
Best,
Debbie
