Free Report: Celebrating Green Month with Online Awareness Campaign on Plastic Pollution |

According to the Hindu calendar Shrawan Month is considered as one of the holiest months in the year especially for the devotee of the Lord Shiva. It is the fourth month in the Hindu calendar ( comes after July 13 ). Now here its Shrawan month in Nepal. The month of Shrawan holds crucial importance for Hindus alike along with the apparent lush green beauty of nature that surrounds us, we can also visualize women of all age group adorned in green rainbows. The craze of henna pigment on the palm, green bangles on the hand, green beaded necklace and entirely illuminating grace with the green attire by women absolutely fascinates everyone at this month. During this month, devotees pour water on Lord Shiva’s head, and women, along with wearing a piece of green worship lord shiva for the peace, prosperity and happiness of the family.
Why shrawan is considered as the holiest month? According to the hindu mythology Shrawan month is considered as the synonymous month for the beginning of everything like all the auspicious festivals begins from this month. So this is the month of Good Start. A long time ago, during the month of Shrawan, the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) occurred. During the churning, 14 different rubies emerged from the ocean out of them one contained the poison “halahala” which came out and Lord Shiva drank the poison to save the entire Universe and human life. However, the poison caused Lord Shiva’s body temperature to rise, and despite several attempts by Devi-Devtas, his temperature would not normalise. He kept the poison at his throat that later turns out to be Greenish Blue. Lord Shiva then wore the moon on his head to reduce the temperature and normalize the situation after then all the Devi-Devtas started to pour water in his head. Since that period Shrawan month is celebrated as the holy month and lord shiva is worshipped for all the month. So this is the hindu mythology and taking these as a reference, we can also see that in the recent year the ocean pollution is increasing day by day. Each year, billions of pounds of trash and other pollutants enter the ocean. Out of all the pollutant the major pollutant is Plastic and plastic is entirely deleterious for the health of aquatic and marine animals. From a grocery store trip to applying lotions, our plastic consumption is omnipresent. plastic waste is disrupting marine food webs and affecting species. It is found in the guts of more than 90% of seabirds, the stomachs of over half of the world’s sea turtles, and is tangling and choking whales, sharks, and other marine mammals. There used to be Lord Shiva to protect us from the poison but now its our responsibility to protect marine animals from plastic poison. So this month as a Regional Ambassador to Asia, I am celebrating Green Month with campaign entitled “Online Awareness Campaign on the plastic pollution,” where each day I will be sharing poster on the plastic pollution and its related matter, facts on the gallery section of Tunza Eco Generation. This programme aims to raise public awareness about the plastic pollution and the possible strategy we can adopt to help minimizing the impact and contribute in creating clean and green environment around us. It's great of you to think of the Ocean Pollution problems and what we could do during the free time. Beach combing would be one activity that I would definitely recommend. It's like we can wander around the seaside, but also helps the environment by picking up trash and recycling them.

As you have posted each dayyou will be sharing poster on the plastic pollution and its related matter, facts on the gallery section of Tunza Eco Generatio. But I couldnot see those in gallery section. I could only see 3 posters only.
Where can I get other posters in which section of eco generation website?

I enjoyed reading your article. Especially liked the part where you mentioned that plastic is "omnipresent". This way of putting it is not even surprising to us and in fact it is very scary! This shows how dependent we are on plastics.. Hopefully through your campaign we may be more aware of the consequences!
