Before addressing the carbon neutral issue, it is necessary to clarify the issue of carbon emissions and the greenhouse effect. 30% of solar radiation is reflected by clouds, glaciers and other reflectors on the planet and is captured by atmospheric gases (mostly carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor), thereby warming the earth. The rays captured by these gases are called the greenhouse effect. The gases that cause the greenhouse effect are called greenhouse gases. For centuries, the industrial world has been emitting carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases faster than it can contain. Climate change and the growing frustration of citizens with inadequate responses have forced governments to take action, or at least say they will, and then turn companies into "carbon neutral", also known as "climate neutral" or "Net Zero" carbon emissions. It is now a legal requirement in some countries, and European authorities are drafting legislation to become the first continent to become carbon neutral, and even oil companies are participating in such events. "Carbon neutral" means maximizing emission reductions and compensating for those that cannot be eliminated. For example, countries can encourage the use of cleaner cars, move their economies away from heavy, carbon-intensive production, and switch to green energy sources such as wind and solar. Companies can also streamline their practices so that a data center operator can switch to renewable energy, or an airline invests in reforestation to compensate for pollutants in aircraft. How can pollutants be compensated for waste? They can get an "offset" carbon loan. These loans allow owners to release a certain amount of greenhouse gas, which is compensated by financing carbon reduction projects such as reforestation. Efforts are also being made to regulate existing markets for pollution permit trade in order to have a similar mechanism in place. Carbon reserves have jumped over the past year as more companies have adopted this approach. Dozens of countries have pledged to go for "pure zero" emissions, or at least exceed the carbon reduction targets set out in the 2015 Paris agreement on climate change. Britain and France were the first major economies to pass laws forcing carbon emissions to reach "zero" by 2050. Thanks for clarifying the principle of how carbon gases cause greenhouse effect,
and consequently, global warming.
Like you've said we have come to a situation where we can almost give penalty for
nations or corporate whom give out too much carbon above limit. This seems like
a realistic solution, but actually may almost encourage them who have no economical problems, only environmental ones.

The world seems to be dealing with an apocalypse and that's how scary climate change can be... I hope we realize the need for change both at individual and at industrial level.
