Carbon Neutrality is completely new for me. I went through the literatures available on different websites and found it interesting. Carbon neutrality refers to a balance between carbon emissions and carbon absorption from the atmosphere in carbon sinks. Carbon sequestration is the process of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it. All global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions must be balanced by carbon sequestration in order to achieve net zero emissions. The construction industry has a significant impact on both the natural and constructed environments. Construction activities use a lot of energy, natural resources, and water, and they also produce a lot of waste. Due to increasing global climate change concerns, attaining carbon neutrality has become a primary concern. Nonetheless, all industries will be expected to make commitments to reduce carbon emissions. Carbon neutrality, which is the key goal for climate change mitigation, requires renewable energy strategies. Over the last decade, there has been a rise of interest in carbon neutrality, which is becoming increasingly popular among businesses and individual consumers. In general, this expression means that the company's or individual's activities have no carbon footprint on the planet, while in reality, carbon neutrality can be achieved by offsetting. Low-carbon transitions are multi-faceted long-term processes involving three different approaches: 1) concerns about the impact of energy production and use on climate change, often referred to as de-carbonization and carbon neutrality of the energy system; 2) energy security, or the physical availability of energy in a given area; and 3) energy affordability for residents and businesses. It is not as simple as starting a business and submitting a cheque to become carbon neutral, as it is to obtain a license to operate in another field. I've heard something quite interesting recently.
We continue to stress the importance of carbon neutrality, and how carbon causes the greenhouse affect which leads to global warming. I've never truly understood the consequences of it. To help understand it, we need to think of why we put Mars as a last resort instead of Venus which is far more close to us.
It is because Venus has an atmosphere filled with carbon, which makes us even impossible to access the planet which has immense heat inside.
We should really try our best to prevent this kind of situations!

Thanks for sharing about what you've learned about Carbon Neutrality. Like you said, this is becoming a more important interest of businesses. A lot of companies are investing into its ESG department, which stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. Hopefully with the rise of interest we'll be able to reach the global goal of Carbon Neutrality 2050 sooner! :D
