[FREE REPORT] CONNECTING THE YOUTH - Ambassdor Event Result

by CHARU SMITA | 06-08-2021 22:27 recommendations 0

It is said that the youth are the future of our country and that Gen Z are more ethically and radically diverse than any other generation. To be more exact, we are predicted to be the most well-educated generation to ever exist. That is why, youth interaction and productive participation in environmental development and education is vital. To put together different views and opinions about the same, I conducted a survey of 100 diverse teenager, under the project, 'Connecting the Youth". Out of them, 76% of fell under the age group 13-18. I found it fascinating how the youth responded with a variety of answers and opinions. Out all all these answer, however, the most common terms used were, 'Renewable Energy 'Climate Change' and 'Education'.

Other than polls, I also introduced people to a variety of questions, some of them were about their own experience and the others were about ongoing international issue. Some of the best answers to the questions are as below,

Q) What is the role of the Youth to make a sustainable world?

▪︎They play a significant role in the implementation, monitoring and review of the Agenda as well as in holding governments accountable. With political commitment and adequate resources, young people have the potential to make the most effective transformation of the world into a better place for all.

Q) What sustainable practices are part of your daily life?

▪︎I usually avoid disposable items, I have encouraged people towards transitioning to renewable sources and have also made people practice car pooling

▪︎There aren't a lot of things a single individual could do to maintain a sustainable environment but I'd always atleast try to spread awareness about the related topics and maintain a healthy lifestyle and try not to harm the surroundings around me and yeah if everyone will do it I'd be great for the environment.

Q) The South Pacific country of Fiji is gradually being consumed and digested by seawater: the water level is rising. The natural barriers that once kept the island intact has crumbled under the harsh conditions put forwards by human civilization. More than a million people have been displaced and community school and hospitals need to be relocated. We are facing one of the world's largest climate change issue. What sustainable practices should the country must practice to improve their condition?

▪︎I think they should relocate the richer sections of the society and give more area to the poor who cant immigrate for emergency and as for how to avoid this condition global warming should be avoided at all cost I think we should depend more on electricity based or solar based vehicles so as to avoid global warming. Countries like fiji should focus more relication of the people to avoid emergencies and stilt houses can be made for temporary measure in conclusion

▪︎The rising of the water level is massively due to the effect of global warming not just in Fiji but all around the world, the country should focus on reducing chemical emissions and try to make most of the things and manufacturing natural and try to make sure the people are safe by relocating them time before something happens, they should make civilisations and settlements in areas that are a bit high above the sea level.

▪︎Try to use more biodegradable materials and environmentally safe products so they dont gunk up the water any more.

However, the main purpose of this event was to see how social media can be used to share information about enviornmental issues and climate change. Find more about this in my post : https://www.instagram.com/p/CSPABiXtXT5/?utm_medium=copy_link

    Hi Charu,

    This is your mentor Yuseon:D

Thanks for sharing the results of the ambassador event.
As you have gotten many participants, the results seem to show good data.
You have mentioned that the purpose was to study how social media can be used to share information about environmental issues and climate change. It seems to be an excellent way to scramble the ideas in a state like this!

    Thanks for the report:)

    Dear Charu,

    This is your mentor Debbie.
It's great that you are holding these events to spread awareness about the environment! And I must say, I think your purpose of holding this event is awesome because the questionnaires reflect how social media, such as Google Form you used (my guess) can collect so much information! Keep it up :D

    Best Regards,
    Debbiea
