Feature, Carbon Neutrality

Carbon emission, we have all heard of it, right? iIt goes way back to 1980s.
Now let me tell you a little about carbon emission trading and my unfiltered thoughts on it.
Carbon emission trading, also referred to as "cap and trade" is basically done to minimise the harmful effects of greenhouse gases. Governments play a huge role in this. A connection is established between the firms that work with carbon emission trading and the government and then the government allows the specific amount of quantity per unit according to which emissions can be done. The firms may or may not be allowed to pay for the units.

Now lets talk about if carbon emission trading is fair? Well. to each their own but i think its one hundred percent fair because it keeps the climate of a country in check. Imagine how many animals die due to climate change, glaciers are melting and an incentive must be taken so why not this? Not only has it limited extreme climatic changes but it has broadened people's vision regarding low carbon technologies.
Countries like Europe,Norway,Iceland have been doing this and I am pretty sure more countries are looking forward to doing this since Global warming is not limited to a particular place but rather a global issue.

However. there are definity some downfalls to it as well like any other thing. The trading can be a costly process and requires a handful of skillful people, developing countries like Pakistan and third world countries simply dont have the means to execute it on a large scale. But at the same time its helping in reducing pollution and we might need it especially in coming years and due to population changes to save our planet.

    Dear Arham,

This is your mentor Debbie. :)
It was interesting to hear your opinion about carbon emission trading. Personally I agree on the policy too but I think it does require a lot of work to get on a reasonable concensus about what is 'the' best way and price on the trading itself. Thanks for your idea. :)

    Best,
    Debbie

A well balanced essay towards "cap and trade". As you said, every good thing has its downfall, and "cap and trade" cannot be an exception. Looking through negative aspects of certain agendas is a very realistic and necessary approach, indeed.

Thank you for sharing your unfiltered ideas regarding this issue.
