Finally we took our first selfie at Most beautiful place of our University

Isn't it true? When we do something and when something positive result came out from the effort then our happiness knew no bounds, we forget every hurdles and challenges, just we enjoy the moment and cherish the success.

Exactly this happened to me, I always feel proud to share these pictures with you all, I never get tired to visit the place, that place which once has been a most polluted site where we even can't go 100 m near to the place. Now the place converted into the most beautiful places of my University, a destination to capture selfie.

This campaign was initiated back to 6 month by the joint collaboration of NGOs Youth Endeavor for Sustainable Agriculture where I had been working since 3 years,  Tunza Eco Generation Regional Ambassador and IAAS Paklihawa Krishi Campus. Our mission was simple to remove all the waste from the near place. The polluted site was exactly 500m far from my Hostel. Everyday I along with my friends had to encounter the place, smell the foul smell of Algal blooms and dirty wastes. The waste was exactly 50 years old. In a past year some organization had also initiated the campaign to remove the waste but they failed and the place was same as it was. With the aim to aware people about the negative impact of the haphazard solid waste disposals, landfills, minimize escalating solid waste disposal on the public place and the religious  place, We went to the collage administration discussed our proposal with Campus Chief about the alarming waste in the vicinity of our collage and accordingly we planned for the  mass cleanliness campaign, demonstration, street drama and dustbin distribution in the collage area. This plan was also appreciated by the local government and Mayor of siddharthanagar municipality was also present as a chief guest for supporting our programme. The follow up is successfully done and we are absolutely surprised with the results. After a 6 month lockdown we visited this place and took beautiful selfie and see finally the spot has been changed into most beautiful places. We can see the varieties of ornamental fishes, carps and we can also do fish spa there.

This is absolutely proud and happiest moment for us and I acknowledge my heartful thankfulness to our respected Campus Chief for executing this campaign and working for it, collage administration, team members of YES AGRICULTURE for the positive change and results. And yes i took wonderful selfie with my friends. Often said, When there is will there is hundreds of ways, just you have to keep moving.

    Hello Sandhya,
    This is your mentor Hannah.

Thank you for sharing such an unique experience.
By the pictures comparing before and after the campaign, I can expect how hard you and other people joining the campaign worked to clean the area. I was also surprised by Josue's comment that he had the similar activity done in his country as well. I hope this inspires lots of people to start these kinds of environmental actions.

Nice job and keep up the great work. :) Take care,

    Hannah

    Hi Sandhya,

Your environmental action was really awesome. In my country we have a similar community based program called "UMUGANDA" in our local language. Every Saturday that ends the month, every other activities including businesses and public are closed and people are assembled in their neighborhood to clean the area. It is impressive that you are leading the same thing in your community. Keeping this a regular environmental action can create a big impact. Keep it up!

    Cheers,
    Eric Josue .I

    Hello Sandhya,

    This is your Mentor Joon.

This is the first article since I became a mentor, and I am astonished by the quality and devotedness that you have put to the articles, and your campaign. Such campaigns, cleaning up the area, are widely spread around the world, but there are much more places that requires to be cleaned.

I can't assume how much effort you have put to make the place so clean, which was originally close to dumping place.

I really enjoyed reading your article and want to show some respect to you on your effort to keep this planet healthy. So please keep up to what you are doing, and be proud of yourself!

    Best,
    Joon
