by Momina Ahsan | 30-09-2021 17:26 recommendations 0

In the digital era, when devices are everywhere, GPS with smart and innovative tact are creating an impact in our lives, e-waste is growing fast. We have seen that in the pandemic and recent years, everything transcended into digital smart devices. This growth & development is 10 folds greater than expected in the latest surveys. Imagine the devices placed in your rooms idly or buried in the landfill, contributing in leaching of harmful chemicals. In the upcoming years, what would be the rate of growth in e-waste and how it would impact the lives of our future generations? While pondering for one minute, the dangerous and horrible thoughts scares oneself. This is when, there comes the essence of Recycle, Reduce and Reuse.

  • Zero waste programs include all of the following strategies:
  • Reducing consumption and discards.
  • Reusing discards.
  • The principle of producer accountability (including extended producer responsibility strategies)
  • Comprehensive recycling.
  • Comprehensive composting or bio-digestion of organic materials.

In this era, there might be the humdrum of digital and electronic devices but their usage & control is still in the hands of humans. We need to think on the ideologies behind their usage and promote productive essence to prevent the catastrophic impacts of the future.

One less click today or One less device tomorrow,

Might save your smile or save the nature.

    Hello Momina,
    this is your mentor Joon.

Yes E-wastes are also hot issues around the world. If used and processed properly,
they are quite efficient source of basic resources used during the production of another
electronic devices. As such resources are limited, and makes pollutions while production, it might be eco-friendly to retrieve it from already made device. However in regions
without sufficient or adequate infrastructure, it is not possible and if dealt wrong,
it might contaminate the land, water sources and so on. If you are interested, go search
articles about urban mine in google.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
