by Sagar Koirala | 12-10-2021 00:36 recommendations 0

Zero waste is a set of principles focused on waste prevention that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills, incinerators or the ocean. Adopting a Zero Waste lifestyle is one of the most sustainable ways of living. Zero Waste lifestyle choices influence all environmental areas by preventing resource extraction, reducing the amount of materials sent to the landfill or incinerator, and reducing pollution from producing, transporting, or disposing of materials.

Zero Waste is a movement to reduce the amount one consumes and consequently throws away. There are various ways of adopting Zero Waste lifestyle. We commit to reducing what we need, reuse as much as we can, send little to be recycled, and compost what we cannot. We get stuff just because we can, and consequently, we¡¯re consuming way too many resources. The more we consume the more waste needs to be sent to landfills. Landfills are toxic and are a big contribution to pollution. We need to reduce our consumption and reuse more to reduce this kind of toxic waste. A lot of our trash actually doesn¡¯t even make it to the landfills. It¡¯s the waste you see on the sides of roads. A lot of this is plastic which then makes its way into the ocean.

There are various ways of minimzing wastes and adopting Zero Waste Lifestyle. They are:

1.       Consume Less

2.       Choose Reusables

3.       Buy in Bulk

4.       Compost if you can

5.       Take Reusable bags for purchasing grocery

6.       Repair your things

7.       Bring Your lunch to work

8.       Buy Second-hand

9.       Donate unused items

10.   Choose natural items

Hello Sagar, this is your mentor Joon!

Yes Zero waste is a lifestyle that should be implemented in our daily life. To encourage
such movements, different authorities and organizations are promoting it with different
incentives and goods. As you have mentioned, we are trying our best to reduce
solid waste which produces pollution during the process such as incinerating, using
landfills and so on. To do so, we can follow the listed lifestyles, but not limited to it.
Have you tried one of those actions?
If not, why don't you give it a try?

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
