An Alternative, Infinite Power Source: Wind Power - How to Create Efficient Wind Power Mills

by | 01-11-2011 17:28 recommendations 0

A city in the world lost approximately 21 percent of its population. The drought that has swept the global village struck the city for 222 consecutive days with less than 6.4 millimeters of rainfall. The drought recorded the longest one since the Dust Bowl in 1930. The city is Boise City in Oklahoma State, the U.S. The city?s residents are just 2475. Most of the people shop at the Wal Mart 60 miles or 100 kilometers away, because almost all the stores are closed. Almost all the remaining people in the city are the people who had gone through the Dust Bowl. The city is not expected to regain its past glory, but it is possible for it to regain its dynamic. The only solution to this land is wind power: there is too much wind in Boise City all year round.

Wind power is the transformation of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as electricity. It is renewable, clean, and infinite: it produces no greenhouse gas. But the problem with this is that the permitting process for wind farms takes years and transmission power lines are not yet built. Also, wind farms cause noise, which could be stressful for the cattle that the residents are raising. Even though there are problems with wind farms being built, people say wind power is the only solution for Boise city. Likewise, there are so many deserted places on the Korean Peninsula where people were forced to leave but where there is so much wind.

Even at this moment, the Horn of Africa is suffering from extreme drought like Boise City, but Thailand is exposed to a severe flood. Natural disasters and abnormal weather patterns cannot be coped with easily with no combined forces and hearts in our global village. On reflection, I realized that wind power is a good energy source for us to pursue and that when we transfer its related technology to unindustrialized countries, our combined forces can contribute to reducing greenhouse gases and help people in unindustrialized, industrializing, and industrialized economies to seek for a common ground: ?Saving the Earth.?

In fact, industrialized economies are just thinking about themselves, but in the global scale, the drought in the Horn of African or the drought in Boise City is closely related each other. Immediate actions to share wind power technology and help it distributed over the world is a small step to save the earth, but in the long term, it can prevent war, great famine, greenhouse gases, extreme poverty, etc. I suppose that at the land of enough wind, wind power mills could be set up. By doing so, electricity produced from them can be shared with people that made investments into the facilities. By using infinite power all over the world, we can kill the birds – global warming and deserted renewable energy – with one stone.

    Thanks for a great article~~
You made a good point, like killing birds through eco-friendly energy resources.
I can see your passion for the nature, !
