Careers (jobs) related to Renewable Energy Renewable energies have become an essential issue to curb climate change, due to pollution. Renewable and sustainable energies have been put in the spotlight of many companies and industries linked to the wind energy sector, photovoltaics, and other markets in the full development phase. But without a doubt, I would choose the career of: GEOLOGY This career seeks to understand the origin of the earth, its structure, and the processes related to the search, extraction, and use of renewable and non-renewable natural resources. -Geology is the science that studies the composition, structure, dynamics, and history of the Earth, including its natural resources (energy, minerals, water ...), as well as the processes that affect its surface and, therefore, the environment. -Geology is not reduced to the simple contemplation of a rock, mineral, fossil, or landscape, nor the study of great natural disasters. Is much more. Geology is a basic and fundamental science to meet the needs of society. Its impact on our lives is direct and absolute. -Our society is currently facing unprecedented challenges. We need to respond to the needs of an increasingly populated planet that, at the same time, aspires to increase its standard of living. And, all this, without forgetting sustainability. The only way to meet this challenge is to have a qualified workforce, made up of Geology professionals with solid training, prepared to manage the responses that our planet can offer to the needs of Humanity. -It is defined as the science of the earth and its objective is to understand the evolution of the planet and its inhabitants, from the most ancient times to the present, through the analysis of rocks. -It is considered a historical science since it starts from the premise that the current relief of the Earth is the result of a long and varied evolution, therefore it analyzes this spatial and temporal development to indicate the factors and forces that acted in the process and that has given it the form that we currently know, both on the outside and inside of our planet. -Based on studies and analysis, geology also tries to answer the questions that humanity has asked itself through the centuries: what forces have raised the mountain ranges? What do volcanoes and earthquakes mean? What do they mean? How old is life on Earth? How long have human beings been on Earth? Yes, while reading your article I thought of jobs related to geothermal energy which is one of the renewable energies.
Also, by understanding evolution of this planet with geological knowledges may give way for renewable enrgy development.

Hello Paola, this is your mentor Joon.
Geology is related to various of fields of energy from traditional fossil fuels to geothermal energies. Therefore, it is a fields of study which cannot be excluded in different companies. Though they do not directly contribute to the technology of electricity generation, they provide their expertise based on their knowledge and able to tell which region is most effective on gathering energies. Well pointed out!
