Thematic Report For December

by Justice Obiri | 04-01-2022 09:58 recommendations 0

When it comes to career, I personally believe that the best form of careers are the ones which you do not get paid to do. Examples could be being a father, mother, relative, being an Eco Generation Ambassador! Etc.

Renewable energy careers are careers which involves the usage of both renewable and non-renewable sources of energy and this includes careers related to developing and using energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass. This sector also includes traditional, non-renewable sources of energy undergoing significant green technological changes (e.g., oil, coal, gas, and nuclear). A variety of career span from this huge sector and a few are listed below;

1.     Biofuels Processing Technicians

2.     Biomass Plant Technicians

3.     Civil engineers

4.     Continuous Mining Machine Operators

5.     Electrical Engineers

6.     Geothermal Technicians

7.     Hydroelectric Plant Technicians

8.     Machinist

9.     Mechanical Engineers

10.                        Solar Energy Installation Managers

These are just a few out of the many careers in renewable energy careers. Of all the careers mentioned above, solar energy installation is a career that most Africans can take advantage since we have sunshine throughout the entire year. Most African countries including Ghana have not utilize solar energy mostly because acquiring the solar batteries are expensive. Investors could also take advantage of this situation to put up manufacturing companies in the various African countries to produce the solar batteries are a much more affordable price.

These are small actions we could take to reduce excessive pressure on other renewable energies and help curtail the increase in generation of carbon dioxide. Most sources of electric power generation comes with the emission of carbon dioxide but this is very minimal when it comes to solar power. It is a Go Green Ghana, Go Green Africa, and a Go Green Mother Earth.

Hello Justice, this is your mentor Hannah.

Very readable thematic report. Since solar panels are expensive, affordable price could be achieved if they are made in Ghana or in other African region, and that will eventually create diverse jobs related to renewable(solar) energy, right?

Thank you for your great article and please keep up with your wonderful work :)

    Sincerly,
    Hannah

Hello Justice, this is your mentor Joon.

There are different jobs related to renewable energy industry, and solar energy is one of the prospective fields. Yet, there are different limitations to consider before applying solar energy to practice. You have already mentioned one of them, which batteries are expensive, and another one is the temperature limit. Semiconductors used in solar panels cannot produce energy efficiently if the surrounding temperature is high. This is due to the characteristic of semiconductors and different researches are being made. Thanks to those contributing their life to the field, we still see the light.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
