WHAT I DO TO HELP ENVIRONMENT
There are various ways through which you can help environment or conserve resources. I used some ways in my household in order to maintain sustainability in our house. I have listed them below: 1.) Compositing: All of the organic waste from the kitchen like peels of fruits and vegetables, leaves from the garden and other organic waste is used to make organic compost for garden and we are doing it for 4 years now in a row and the productivity of our garden is also increased with the use of this organic compost. You can also add earthworms also in it to make the process a little faster and more nutrients rich manure. 2.) Consume Accordingly: I know it's a little difficult process to choose accordingly to your needs and wants when it comes to resources. But I found it really helpful that if we buy food items accordingly or other items too accordingly it will cause a more less effect on the environment and this method is economically sound too. 3.) Avoid plastic: It also very important to minimize the use of plastic as I carry always cloth bags with me whenever I go to the market. Moreover the cloth bags are made from old clothes in order to maintain the sustainability in the house. I always carry my steel or copper water bottle with me avoid purchasing plastic bottles. 4.) Thrifting: It sounds cheap to some people but actually it's really environment friendly and really important for sustainability. Moreover it's economically friendly to students. 5.) Walking: I avoid using my vehicle for shorter distance and always walk in order to maintain the health and environment. 6.) Banned Fireworks from home: Diwali is very auspicious and great festival for India and fireworks are must in it. But they cause pollution and harm to environment in all means. We haven't burst them since 2007 on our household after knowing their harmful effects to environment, animals and human. And it's really an amazing experience that without bursting crackers you can enjoy diwali in all means. 7.) Growing vegetables at home: My mother and I are going vegetables for our family in our kitchen garden for 4 years and it's both health and environment friendly. There are many things which I want to share with you all but I am time bound and being a working professional it's very difficult to write the articles on time and more content rich. But I am trying my best. Best Regards, Pragati Dubey |

Hello Pragati, this is your mentor Joon.
I am the one who believes that individual's action is much crucial in changing environmental situation compared to big campaigns. Small actions combined could collectively make huge impact to nature. There are different ways to do so, such as those mentioned in your article, and one should not limit themselves to that. Simple actions such as turning off the light could make serious change. Hope more people participate on this movement.
Well read your article, and let's keep up.
Best,
Joon
