(Thematic) Carbon Neutrality

Carbon Neutrality

Net Zero Carbon or also known as Carbon Neutral, is a term used to describe a state in which carbon emissions created by the entity in question have been balanced out. This carbon neutrality, can be achieved by first doing carbon accounting. The data known from carbon accounting can then be used to cut off or reduce the carbon emitted by the entity.

Carbon accounting are done by companies as a way to be socially responsible to the community as well as to the environment. Companies may hire specific people to do carbon accounting, so that there is someone specific looking over the emission produced and figuring out a way to solve them. I have discussed on carbon accounting in my previous article, that can be accessed here: https://tunza.eco-generation.org/ambassadorReportView.jsp?viewID=56742

Carbon neutrality becomes important in a company, because aside it being a part of their social responsibility, it also impacts the company¡¯s image. Not only that, but consumers who have an awareness in being responsible for their carbon footprint, would want to choose entities that are carbon neutral. Even the employees of the company may have carbon neutrality awareness and wants to be a part of it by reducing their carbon footprint.

Hello Ida, this is your mentor Hannah.

Yes, simple and rational explanation on our topic carbon neutrality.
There are quite a lot of ways to reduce the carbon footprint, 'cause in my opinion we excessively make carbon footprints. However, what about carbon offsetting? It seems to need more development by many experts.

Thank you for your great article and please keep up with your wonderful work :)

    Sincerly,
    Hannah

Hello Ida, this is your mentor Joon.

Carbon neutrality is a must for every country in order to sustain our life and pass it to the next generation. Climate change and global warming is a real threat. Glaciers are melting on both poles and water surface level is increasing. We might not be able to pursue same lifestyle in near future if we do not work on it as soon as possible. Different countries say that they are aiming to become carbon neutral by 2050, but I do not think that is fast enough.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
