Topic: Pesticide Detection in Vegetable Crops Using Enzyme Inhibition Methods: A comprehensive review

Our manuscript ¡°Pesticide detection in vegetable crops using enzyme inhibition methods: A comprehensive review¡± has been published in ¡®Food Analytical Methods¡¯ under Springer Nature.

Impact Factor: 3.366

It was my first experience to coordinate with the international author panel. The journey was exciting and equally challenging so far! The experience was magical to deal people of different nationalities and professional settings.

Thanks to all the supporting hands.

One serious environmental problem in the world is food contamination. Many of the environmental pollutants result from agricultural activities. Particularly pesticides, which are commonly used to protect seeds and crops, have serious negative implications for human health. Therefore, biosensors were developed and used to detect pesticides in food and environmental samples in the last few decades. Indeed, utilization of enzyme inhibition method in pesticide detection has received the greatest interest. Therefore, this study screens previous researches on enzyme inhibition biosensors for determining pesticides and highlights different biological sources of these enzymes. The review acts as a guide for the detection of organophosphorus and carbamate pesticides in vegetable crops.

Hello Meena, this is your mentor Chelwoon.

I realized your interest in global issues after reading your article
Food contamination has resulted, from not only agricultural activities, but also the lack of knowledge about food. The biosensors that you have mentioned would help us deal with this problem effectively. They also seem to be eco-friendly! I hope this method would be adapted widely, as soon as possible!

    Thank you for the article!

    Regards,
    Chelwoon

Hello Meena, this is your mentor Joon!

Another great piece of work! I always look forward for your work to be posted. Please feel free to share more of your work, if it is related to environment, to this community! As you have mentioned, food contamination is a problem affecting our health and should be dealt with thoroughly. As pesticides should be removed before it is sold on market, I believe it is important to detect leftover pesticides beforehand. Hope your method could be used to improve current system!

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
