Raja Khadeejah's Monthly Theme Report
Out of all the pollutions occurring around us, water pollution is often neglected. Why is this so? It¡¯s simple. Humans' natural instinct is to only care about things that could possibly affect them or care about things that they can only see physically. Furthermore, many people often refuse to learn more on how water pollution could possibly affect them. NRDC defines water pollution as when harmful substances for example chemicals or microorganisms contaminates bodies of water which degrades the quality of it. chemicals like oil used in jet-skis , boats, ferris and many other water-sports activities or vehicles used on water often give out these type of chemicals and it is polluting the water even more as the days passes by!
Many people also often do not clean up after themselves after going on a picnic by the beach simply because they are uneducated. They do not know how that could possibly affect the cleanliness of the beach as well as the habitat of the animals. I personally have gone on many trips to the beach especially ones nearby to the city; and often times when I go, the beaches are filled with rubbishes and some are even dancing with the waves! This outrages me. How could people simply visit a place that isn¡¯t yours to begin with and leave it in an unwelcoming state?
As we all know, turtles are often caught up in plastics, nets, straws, and so many other things are that are there in the first place because of the rubbishes left by these visitors. We should all stand strong side by side and raise our voices and advice these people until they listen! Action speaks louder than words. We can only change something if we have the will to do it. To change the world seems impossible, but change can start with you. It all starts with you.

Hello Raja, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
The theme of World Water Day 2022 is ¡°Groundwater – Making the invisible visible¡±. Even though our human instinct tells us to care about physically visible things, we should also pay great attention to the invisible things. Because many visible results are usually coming out of invisible effects.
As you have mentioned, education is essential. In order to encourage more people to participate in the environmental movement, we have to provide proper education to all the people around the world.
Thank you for the article!
Regards,
Chelwoon

Hello Raja, this is your mentor Joon.
As you have mentioned in your article, out of all the pollutions occurring around us, water pollution is often neglected. Different reasons are behind the problem, but what we are sure is that it is time that we have to address the problem. Just like other environmental problems, changing the world at once is impossible. However, we could take approach step by step. Little efforts combined could make huge actions. Hope everyone share the mindset of "It all starts with myself"
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
