In today's context, bags are necessary whenever we go for shopping, or for outing. Bags have become a compulsion whether it is a plastic bag, a clothes bag or a leather bag. But the problem with these bags are: Non degradable, shorter lifespan, petroleum products and chemicals, and animal hunting. The possible solutions for these problems are: no use of plastics, durable, toxic chemical free and zero harm to animals. Jute bags possess all these qualities. Jute is a natural fiber which have high tensile strength, high luster, bio degradable, long staple length, strong fiber. So, we decided to approach a project called Jute Embroidery and present in the Oncampus program of Hult Prize Paklihawa. For the presentation we had to prepare a presentation slide including whole details about our startup; including the problems, solution, our concepts, work plan, financial estimates and business canvas model. Further, we have created a prototype of handmade jute bags (Knitted) for which everyone appreciated. My team include two more members: Smriti Rana Magar and Khusbu Adhikari. Our concept of the project is to replace the use of plastic bags and make it available to every people. With the hardwork of about 1 week, our project was able to won second prize. |

Hello Binita, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
Jute seems to have adequate physical property to be used as a material of bags! I think it can be used as a great material not only for bags but also for other goods.
It is very impressive that your team prepared a lean canvas model for your project! When introducing and convincing others with your idea, it is quite important to show them a feasibility analysis of your idea. I think this presentation is very well prepared! However, are there any disadvantages of using Jute?
Thank you for the article!
Regards,
Chelwoon

Hello Binita, this is your mentor Joon.
Well done on your work! Looking for possible problems and takin into an action is always deserve some applause. Not many people spare their time thinking about the problems scattered around us, and even smaller number of people actually try to find the solution and put it into action. Hope your actions create social impact and drive the change so that more people could use sustainable bags which share the similar principles of your idea.
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
