It's the only thing worth paying attention to. Every day on the news reports, the news is everywhere, mentioning melting ice, acid rain, global warming, global climate change or adding new lands to become industrial landfills. All of these phenomena are consequences of environmental pollution. In particular, the situation of soil environmental pollution in Vietnam is one of the urgent issues that need attention. To be aware of the state of soil pollution, first of all, we need to understand what is environmental pollution? Environmental pollution is the state in which the natural environment is contaminated, and at the same time the chemical, physical and biological properties of the environment are changed negatively, adversely affecting human health and the environment. other creatures. From that can understand soil pollution is? Soil pollution is a part of soil degradation due to the presence of xenobiotics (man-made) or changes in the natural soil environment. It is usually caused by industrial production, agricultural residues or improper waste disposal. Status of soil pollution in Vietnam According to statistics, the total natural land area of Vietnam is 33 million hectares, of which 26.1 million hectares are for agriculture, forestry and aquaculture, 3.7 million hectares are used for agricultural purposes. non-agricultural purposes and the remaining 3.3 million hectares have not been put into use.  But it is remarkable here that most of the unused areas have been polluted, degraded, desertified or have lost value due to unreasonable over-exploitation. In the situation of increasing population and strong development of new urban and industrial zones, a large area of non-agricultural and agricultural land has been seriously polluted. According to information from the Vietnam Environment Administration, the soil quality in most of the densely populated urban areas is seriously polluted, the main cause is waste from industrial, construction, domestic and industrial activities. waste from households. Currently, along any street or street corner, we also come across heaps of household waste that are thrown indiscriminately, both causing unsightly beauty and affecting the quality of the surrounding land. Even in rural areas, the situation of littering domestic waste still occurs uncontrollably. Besides that, the land fund is getting lower and lower over time due to the pressure of population growth and the process of industrialization and modernization of the country in Vietnam. The process of planning and using land in many provinces and cities still reveals limitations and irrationalities in the allocation of land funds to sectors and fields. The current common situation is the transformation of the structure of land use purposes, the sharp decline in agricultural production land due to urbanization, the agricultural land fund being converted to use for the purpose of housing construction. industrial and commercial zones, construction of infrastructure, roads. In addition, chemical residues left over after the war in large quantities are also one of the sources of pollution, reducing soil quality. The 2010 National Environmental Report shows that the US military used during the war in Vietnam at least 77 million liters of herbicides, half of which were Agent Orange with high toxin content, cause serious soil contamination. In hilly areas, where the terrain is steep, there is a risk of soil erosion. Meanwhile, the area from Binh Binh province to Binh Thuan province is threatened by the trend of desertification. Climate change is a major threat to all localities as the Mekong Delta is said to be the most affected place facing sea level rise. In Thai Nguyen, in the process of mining, enterprises have discharged a large amount of soil and rock, which has narrowed and reduced the arable land. Although mining activities in Thai Nguyen province are still in progress. rapid development, but due to the use of outdated technology, most of the mining is open-pit... so the soil in the mining areas is polluted, seriously affecting the quality of the soil and affecting the environment. health and life of the people in the area. It is always heartbreaking to see such images. I think it is very difficult to restore the original quality of the pool seen in the first picture. It seems that is the result of red blooming algae. When the imbalance of organisms in water bodies breaks out, it can easily lead to blooming algae. In Korea, there are several big lakes which are suffering from blooming algae. Most of these are caused by improper and excessive renovation of the infrastructures.

The photos you have uploaded surely looks shocking to me. I wonder what those red waters are. Are those waters including high level of iron level? or other types of pollutants?
