Water Pollution

by Fitrotur Rofiqoh | 25-05-2022 00:44 recommendations 0

Water pollution, both rivers, seas, lakes and underground water, is increasingly becoming a problem in Indonesia, as is air pollution and soil pollution. Getting clean water that is not polluted is not easy anymore. Even in the rivers on the slopes of the mountains though.

Water pollution in Indonesia is mostly caused by human activities that leave residential waste, agricultural waste, and industrial waste including mining. Residential waste has the meaning of all pollutants produced by residential areas or households. Residential waste can be in the form of organic waste (wood, leaves, etc.), and non-organic waste (plastic, metal, and detergent).

Agricultural waste has the meaning of all pollutants produced by agricultural activities such as the use of pesticides and fertilizers. Meanwhile, industrial waste has the meaning of all pollutants produced by industrial activities which often produce hazardous and toxic materials (B3).

Another impact that is no less detrimental than water pollution is the disruption of the environment, ecosystems, and biodiversity. Polluted water can kill various organisms that live in the water.

Hello Fitrotur, this is your mentor Joon.

Most pollutions are caused by human economic activities. Industrial wastes, and agricultural wastes are biggest contributors to water pollution. Though situations are better in those countries which has strict restrictions and enforcement, there are still countries which do not take proper actions which the country indirectly encourages economic bodies to emit such pollutants. Countries should stop such tendency if it really thinks about their citizens as it would continuously threat them if nothing is done.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon

Hello Fitrotur, this is your mentor Chelwoon.

If one place is suffering from one type of pollution, in most cases, there would also be many other types of pollution as well. The whole ecosystem is fully connected. However, not many people are taking this problem seriously, even though their lakes are contaminating their lands and the lands are contaminating the lakes. They should know there are several things that we, as citizens, can put into action immediately.

    Thank you for the article!

    Regards,
    Chelwoon
