Soil Pollution

by Amit Hassan | 21-06-2022 16:45 recommendations 0

Soil pollution is the poisoning of land with abnormally high levels of hazardous chemicals. It is indeed a major environmental issue because it poses several risks. Presence of high benzene quantities in soil, as illustration, improves the chances of developing leukaemia. Anthropogenic impacts are mostly responsible for soil pollution in metropolitan areas. Production, corporate dumping, urban expansion, local garbage disposal, and inappropriate poison or nutrient management usage are a few instances.

Hello Amit, this is your mentor Chelwoon.

Immediate steps need to be taken by groups of people to clean up the already contaminated soil and then keep on checking everything around it. Adequate access to preceded measures to prevent our lands should be a number one priority, as soil pollution is one we cannot easily figure out due to its characteristics. Furthermore, it takes a lot of time and money to restore already polluted soils.

    Thank you for the article!

    Regards,
    Chelwoon

Hello Amit, this is your mentor Joon.

Soil pollution is referred as an 'Invisible Pollution' as it is actually hard to notice. Different sources of pollutants exist which could be classified as a point source, and non-point source. Back in the days, which there were no regulations regarding the emission of chemicals, significant pollution was made, and it is still happening to places not having adequate restrictions. As we have to put so much resource in order to recover the tiny bit, we should avoid the land to be polluted on the first place.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
