28th Ambassadorship, Month 6, Report 2 Month: August Thematic report Topic: Social Contribution Activities of Corporations A management concept known as "Corporate Social Responsibility" encourages businesses to incorporate social and environmental considerations into their daily operations and relationships with stakeholders. A properly applied CSR concept can provide a number of competitive advantages, including improved access to capital and markets, increased sales and profits, operational cost savings, improved productivity and quality, an efficient human resource base, improved brand image and reputation, increased customer loyalty, and improved decision-making and risk management processes. 1) Nepal Telecom Nepal Telecom's range of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR0 initiatives is extensive. With its CRS programs, the state-owned telecom services provider has made significant contributions to a number of fields, including agriculture, health, the environment, sports, education, and ICT. Significant services were supplied by Nepal Telecom during the earthquake last year. Immediately following the accident, the business offered free mobile phone services worth Rs. 1.46 billion, garnering praise on a national and international scale. According to NT Spokesperson Pratibha Vaidya, "We are attempting to reach distant community regions of the country via the internet. Also they added they were researching ways to support health posts and schools in such regions using WiMAX connectivity. NT intends to carry out more noteworthy CSR activities in the coming days. (NMB) bank As far as CSR initiatives go, NMB Bank has a separate organization called NMB Social Initiative that was created by the staff of NMB Bank and its subsidiary to carry out social development initiatives. The bank has continued the project for the past five years and places a specific emphasis on cultural protection both inside and outside of the valley. NMB Bank Heritage Walk is an annual event that is organized by NMB Bank and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office. By maintaining a donation box on the Bank's property throughout the week-long event, the Bank also organizes "fund raisings" for cultural preservation. With money raised from the Heritage Walk initiative, the bank had previously rebuilt and maintained the Goraknath Temple in Thapathali and the Luchu Bhuju Ajima Temple in Ganabahal, Kathmandu. 3) NCELL Ncell has consistently taken part in CSR initiatives as a good business citizen. Sanju Koirala, Corporate Communications Director of Ncell, states that their projects were created emphasizing on sustainability and they seek to bring about immediate benefits to the people and communities. They also claimed that the business actively links CSR with areas of national need and priority and works to use technology to assist people and communities more. |

Thank you for introducing us to CSR activities going on in your country. Businesses have a variety of reasons for pursuing CSR, and one of the important benefits of CSR is enhancing community support, branding and customer loyalty. This benefit also explains how the concept of ESG came out.

Hello Meena, this is your mentor Joon.
It is great to see different examples of social contribution activities from your region. Though there are no designated forms of CSR, hope such actions could make the world a better place!
It was a pleasure for me to mentor you on past 6 months. What I feel, and realize now is that I have not been knowledgeable enough to provide more information related to different subjects. Hope you could keep up with environmental activities as well as your other works. Once again, thank you for following me.
