Jeanne Gang,47,  the principal and founder of Chicago?s Gang Studio, was among this year's 22 MacArthur fellows-prestigious genius grant which comes with $500,000 support over the next five years.

Gang is best known for Aqua, 82 story tower in Chicago, which is highly recognized by its wavelike, undulating appearance. Completed in 2010, Aqua has been praised for its environment friendly features. It has rainwater collecting systems, energy efficient lighting and huge green roof.

Ms.Gang is a passionate advocate of ecologically sustainable technology. She made design for the Ford Calumet Environmental Center (Calumet City, south of Chicago) and helped to educate the public about its ecological heritage.
