Many problems are occurring in our lives. One such problem is the contamination of water sources which negatively affects their use. You might have heard of it. This is called Water Pollution. Known as the universal solvent, water is able to dissolve more substances than any other liquid. This is the reason why it is so easily polluted. Toxic substances and chemicals from human activity invade the water¡¯s purity and make it unsafe to use. In South Korea, it is generally believed that the water quality is great. Its tap water is some of the best in the world. However, what is it like in other regions? Despite being the greatest in size, the Pacific Ocean is the most polluted out of the other oceans. The main cause of this is sewage. Every year, 2 million tonnes of sewage is dumped in the ocean. Thus, the Pacific Ocean is heavily affected. There isn¡¯t one specific solution to water pollution. Since this is such a great issue, having a solution at all is difficult. Rather, there are many actions humans can take in order to prevent less pollution. Since sewage is one of the greatest causes, treating some of the water before it is reintroduced into the waterways is the best way. In addition, plastic waste reduction is another great way of preventing water pollution. Aside from sewage, plastic takes up a large part of the ocean. It is so large that it is even bigger than many large countries such as Mexico. Water pollution is obviously a serious issue. Happening all around the world, and it is difficult to find a solution to this universal problem. However, we can all make a difference even by making small changes to our lives. |

Hello Cheha, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
It would be best if we can treat some of the water before it is reintroduced into the water ways. However, there is not any treatment system in each home so the role of sewage treatment plants is very important. I would say ¡°Proper sewage treatment and management¡± is the most important one. It is crucial, especially in the countries which are vulnerable to water pollution due to the lack of sewage treatment systems.
Thank you for the article!

Hello Cheha, this is your mentor Joon.
Different countries face serious water pollution, yet not many Koreans are aware of such situations as we are currently 'enjoying' what we have. More focuses should be given.
It was a pleasure for me to mentor you on past 6 months. What I feel, and realize now is that I have not been knowledgeable enough to provide more information related to different subjects. Hope you could keep up with environmental activities as well as your other works. Once again, thank you for following me.
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
